Salinger (especially Nine Stories and The Catcher in the Rye), Truman Capote's work, Middlesex, Girl Interrupted, The Monk, Ferdinand the Bull, Invisible Monsters, Everything is Illuminated, Me Talk Pretty One Day, Thumbelina, Frankenstein, The Little Prince, Dracula, Edgar Alan Poe stuff, comic books (especially Adrian Tomine, Daniel Clowes, The Sandman, Maus and Calvin and Hobbes!), Play it as it Lays, any Charles Dickens and pretty much anything that is just well written, with interesting metaphores and ways of speaking or quirky dialouge... anything involving animals, especially their behavior, is of supreme interest to me, i also enjoy a good art book from time to time.
my mama and really just my whole family, my bestest friends, john lennon, anyone who stands up for the rights of others and who is compassionate and kind, people who are true to themselves. jeff corwin is pretty awesome as well :)
