First contact with drumming in 1980. Played on cardboard-drums without any cymbals.
First drumset in 1981. A Hoshino with 20/13/16 drums in Ringo configuration and colour. Started to play Blues and Rock with brother Charly in a band called Missing Link.
After a few years the musicians changed and finally the band split. In the early 90s performing as a drum and bass duo.
In the mid 90s I got my Troyan set. Handmade in Germany. Massive Maple staves with massive, deep sound. You can see this blue wonder in the pics section.
Since the late 90s performing with "I tell you what"; a funk/jazz/rock trio. The tracks HeavyFunk and Hit the ground are from this band.
This trio is the backline of the Frank Zappa tribute project "Cheap Thrills" (formerly known as
Dwarf Nebula and the playground psychotics). We had the great honour to play on the Zappanale in Bad Doberan - the biggest Zappa festival in Europe :-)Equipment:
