Artist Bio:
Marc 4, born Marc Michel on April 19, 1982, is a rapper from the Port Cambridge Housing Projects in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
As a youth, Marc was known for his athletic ability in sports like football, basketball, and boxing. However, as tough times set in for his family, Marc was forced to shift his attention to more profitable ventures. Upon seeing the lifestyle led by many Hip-Hop artists, rap soon became a passion for young Marc. He began making a name for himself in his neighborhood, sharpening his skills by battling other local rappers. He credits his uncle, a well-known former pimp, among those individuals responsible for teaching him the ins and outs of self-promotion and how to capitalize on his lyrical abilities.
With this experience under his belt, Marc 4 swiftly established himself as an accomplished emcee. He specializes in versatility, being able to switch styles easily from deep, thought provoking political joints to up tempo club tracks with ease. Marc’s combination of talent and business sense soon drew the attention of Red Zone Records President, Curt “Iceman†Felder. Upon realizing what a true talent Marc represented, Ice swiftly moved to make Marc not only a signed artist under Red Zone, but also a Vice President of the label.
Marc 4 went on to appear in many live performances with the Jump Squad, including venues such as Club Envy and Milly’s Tavern in Manchester NH. Marc also appeared prominently on the Jump Squad’s debut CD, “Reloaded".
Marc 4 is currently in the studio recording his solo debut mix tape, “Dominationâ€, which will be released by Red Zone Records and the SWAT Team Movement in June 2007. Marc is also hard at work putting in the finishing touches on other upcoming Red Zone Records releases, including “Jump Squad: Kill Zone†and his own full length debut album, “Brainstormâ€.
