Click here to make your own!Dancing and singing since the age of 4, Kelly Young had always dreamed of performing on stage and just hamming it out. ”It was and still is my ultimate high on life.” Her mother had been the backstage mom that she had always dreamed of being, for her daughter. As Kelly got older and more experienced with dance, she started dancing with local ballet company’s and then soon danced with Paula Abdul after winning an audition. From there dance had been her life and nothing was going to stop her. Until Kelly reached 19 yrs of age…she started having major back problems with an inherited disease called scoliosis. After many visits with an Orthopedic surgeon, as scary as it was, she decide to have the 13 hour surgery that would straighten out her back, take away her pain and change her whole life forever. From then Kelly had to learn how to walk all over again. “Having this surgery was the best life decision I had ever made.” Dancing professionally was now no longer an option. Kelly decided to enhance her musical gift ……. her voice. As natural as the blue sky, Kelly had never had one singing lesson. She was asked by a songwriter to sing lead vocals in a song with Aretha Franklin’s back up singers…..he later sold the song. Recently she performed in the same studio where Mariah Carey, U2, Tony Bennet and many other famous talents go to record. Many people have compared her to Sheryl Crow who has always been a huge musical inspiration for her growing up. And now Kelly continues to strive for what she loves best in life…….”Writing songs, singing, and touching people with my songs as they have touched and inspired me to write them.”
