About Me

Born in Oklahoma, grew up in Dallas/FtWorth area, moved to California when I was 7 (El Monte, Monrovia), I went to jr high & high school in Quitman, Texas (east tx)....college in Arkadelphia, Arkansas at Henderson State University...got a bachelor's & master's in math then a bachelor's in music. Taught math (in college)., taught band (hs & ms level). I am a Sigma Phi Epsilon brother...what took me so long to be a Sig Ep?! I'm now a Lead Programmer/Analyst in Dallas and play trumpet, giving lessons when I can. I authored a book & produced a couple of DVD's (see How to Make First Chair ).

For anyone that doesn't know Dan Dyer , you are missing out on a dude with soul and a knack for singing every song like it was meant for him.

Jimi Hendrix, but it's too late. I one-upped that when I was with Stevie Ray Vaughan in an elevator in the Austin Sheraton back in 1986...that was extremely cool.
