Trying to keep up with current affairs, television, drama in general, philosophy (but not as much as before I started my degree), conversation, radio 6 and 4, beer, wine, spirits, considering the aesthetic beauty of the female form, tits, walking in the countryside, animals (especially hybrids), Aaron Sorkin, the information age, good food, bad food, wikipedia.
People with interesting interior lives... and attractive girls. These are obviously not mutually exclusive. Both qualities are desirable.
Anything, as long as it's popular, ball-less and catchy.
I like serious slow foreign stuff where people look conflicted and furrowed and intense. And the works of Pixar. And Blade Runner rocks my world.
So much... too much. Anything by Paul Abbott. Anything by Rusty T Davies. Anything by Aaron Sorkin. Anything by Joss Whedon. Anything by Jimmy McGovern (but especially Cracker, which is probably my favourtisttttt telly show, like, ever). A lot of things by Stephen Poliakoff (although he needs to go on a quest for a sense of humour). Deadwood. Battlestar Galactica. Boys from the Blackstuff and Melissa (haven't got around to watching GBH yet). This Life. Ye Olde Doctor Who. Skins (which I am simultaneously thrilled and irritated by... because A) I wanted to have a go at writing something very similar, and B) all the writers are super young, and already have my ideal job - although having said that, I'm not sure I should be afflicted with professional envy when I am neither a professional nor middle-aged). The Singing Detective (sadly haven't seen any other Potter yet). Life on Mars. NOT FUCKING LOST. NOT FUCKING HEROES. Sitcom wise: The Young Ones, Peep Show, The output of Ricky Gervais (go sue me), The Book Group, 15 storeys high, Spaced, and lots and lots more that I can't recall right now.
Books...who reads books? This is the future... welcome to the space age.I like depressing early twentieth century books about cancer and rape. No really.
Sir Paul of Abbott.
