About Me

I have the best husband in the world and the best cat in the world. The cat likes me better though.
I got 5 new fish - I only have 3 left.
I realized today that sometimes I think in a pseudo-Australian accent. Don't ask why. And thank God it has never come out when I speak. That would be weird. Considering I'm not Australian.
I really, really want to be able to walk in slow motion, like in the movies. Like, I'm walking in slow motion all cool and stuff then I turn my head and glance at something and people recognize me for no reason. That would be rad.
I get really excited when the fighter jets fly over our house. It's really loud and it's super extra cool.
I like sirens. Mostly fire engine and ambulance sirens. Some people think that's bad.

My Interests

cross stitching (i'm not kidding); playing with the cat; drinking beer; eating chocolate chip cookie dough; watching tv; reading; tending to the backyard, which we have managed to keep alive; having a good laugh, playing tennis

I'd like to meet:

People I can relate to. There are some people you get along with and some people you don't. I'd rather meet those people I would get along with. I do not want to meet the guy who was driving 10mph in front of me today on the way to work. I wanted to throw a rock through his window. I don't want to meet him.

Music:

RHCP, john denver (obviously), john denver (duh), john denver, mamas and the papas, i do like barbra streisand, john mayer, third eye blind, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr. (his grandson kicks ass on drums and he's only like 6!), Frank Sinatra, Sarah McLachlan, Maroon 5, Sting, The Killers, Michael McDonald, Coldplay, Death Cab for Cutie, Tenacious D, Elvis

Movies:

The Pirate Movie, Goonies, The Lord of the Rings trilogy kicks ass; Dude, Where's My Car?, Pirates of the Caribbean, Elvis movies, Romeo + Juliet; I don't like to think too much when I'm watching a movie. A movie has to suck reallybad for me to dislike it.

Television:

Best show ever made: Seinfeld. 2nd best show ever made: The Amazing Race. 3rd best show ever made: The Golden Girls. How could I have forgotten McMillan and Wife; Court TV, Fox News, The Sopranos, Six Feet Under, What Not to Wear, 24, Prison Break, The Unit, Project Runway, My Name is Earl, The Office, Battlestar Galactica, COPS, football all day Sunday, UFC, Animal Planet (but it makes me so sad sometimes), Jeopardy (I passed the college test, you know, but failed the practice round miserably), Lingo, Family Feud (Richard Dawson was a freak!)

Books:

first hand accounts of the horrors of war and how it affected the person who was there (Home Before Morning by Linda Van Devanter is an incredible book, she was a nurse in Vietnam); The Four Agreements; I've read the Bible several times, but I was younger and didn't really understand it; Confessions of a Teen Sleuth; Nancy Drew; I have a tendency to read books and move on, I don't dwell on them too much

Heroes:

-Blind people. I get kind of choked up when I see a blind person walking around by him/herself and using their cane. The amount of courage that takes is amazing. However, when I see someone wearing a hearing aid I almost break down, I get so sad. I have no idea why. I wear glasses, isn't it the same damn thing?
-American soldiers and Marines. I am married to a Marine and although he never saw combat and was never deployed, he made a sacrifice. Those guys get paid shit money, have shit equipment, and are under a lot of pressure. I cannot imagine how I would have gotten by if he had been deployed. The soldiers/marines and their wives are incredible people.
