About Me
Arizona wasn't exactly known for its flourishing scene, overcrowded shows, or hundreds of driven independent musicians; but Lake Havasu City's The Hope of Change helped to change all that.
Formed in 2003, the determined and passionate band, The Hope of Change, caught on fast in the metal and hardcore scene everywhere. In only three years, THOC managed to push themselves further than typical bands make it in whole careers by concentrating heavily on song structure, live performance, and intimacy with their fans. The band's high energy live performances showcasing their hook-infused metal compositions caused the group to receive high praise from show-goers and heavy music fans across the United States.
To The Hope of Change's advantage, their buzz around California, Arizona, and Texas didn't take long to reach the Canadian label Harvest Earth Records who were nothing short of impressed by the undeniable amount of talent on display. With the help of the independent label, THOC was able to take things further with their first official release titled "Hourglass" in 2005. This album was recognized by well respected media outlets such as HM Magazine and Metalreview.com as being one of the top metalcore releases for the year. The group then hit the road and completed three well attended US tours.
Nationwide appearances with other growing artists as well as previously established acts such as, Haste The Day, Still Remains, Nodes Of Ranvier, Hoods, Comeback Kid, The Deal, Suicide Silence, Embrace The End, Trauma, Himsa, Seventh Star, As Hope Dies, Chasing Victory, Blessed By A Broken Heart, and The Final Burden helped the band gain increasing attention from metal and hardcore fans around the U.S.
Eventually though, all things do come to end. After going through several member changes in 2006, the band decided to call it quits. The "Hourglass" lineup of Aaron, Mike, Bryan, Brad, and David decided to do one final show in their hometown of Lake Havasu City, AZ on March 30th, 2007. Although these five no longer play together, their songs will leave a lasting impression on the friends and fans who enjoyed their music.
