Where to begin? Hi, I'm Kelly Brianne Clarkson, but you can just call me Kelly. Most of you know me as your first American Idol, but I'm really just that girl next door from Texas, who loves to have a good time, and enjoy life. I'm very single at this moment in time. Regardless of what the media like to report, Justin and I are just very close friends, but nothing more. I am currently looking for a relationship. I love having the companionship there, and especially having someone there to hold you at night and just make your every desire come true. My first album, "Thankful" was released about 2 years ago. I'm very proud of it and it went number one, how fricken amazing is that? I cried when they called me and told me. It's like... wow am I dreaming? No this is real!!! I can't help but think back to about 3 years ago... My best friend, Jessica came home one day and told me about this search for a superstar, called "American Idol". Jess filled out all the paperwork and basically made me sign it. So I signed it, thinkin' nothing would come of it. I had worked with a few producers in LA, but nothing came out of it, It was a bad time for me, my apartment had burned down, I had lost most contact with everyone from home, and things just weren't going right. I wasn't too into doing American Idol at first because I had done so horrible on the Popstar auditions, I didn't even pass the first round. But Jess convinced me to audition and I did. Not only did I make it past the first round, I made it to the Top 10 Finals. I couldn't believe where I was. Every night I would pray for the best and every morning I would thank god for where I was. I had a new family, and we all knew whoever was selected as the American Idol, deserved it but we were all still incredibly lucky to be where we were. 10,000 people had auditioned and we were the 10 best out of the 10,000. I remember actually stepping out onto the stage and hoping to hear Simon's criticism. It may seem harsh, but that's the real world kids. I have always respected his feedback and used it as constructive criticism, which helped make me the performer I am today. When I was named as the AMERICAN IDOL .. it was so surreal, it left me completely speechless. Those of you that caught the final episode saw the emotion that came over me.. it is truly an indescribable experience. Things were so wild after I was named the American Idol... the Top 10 Idols went on to do the Idols Live! tour, I got to sing with MY idol, Reba McIntyre, I completed my first album, which debuted at number 1 the first week of sales and I have an upcoming movie coming out, which I star in. Right now I live my life, thankful as each day passes. I grew up always working 3-4 jobs, just to make ends meet, and now I've finally accomplished my dream. I get to sing for my career. As much as I love it, it's also hard. I mean I would love to have a serious boyfriend to spend time with, but it would be so unfair to date someone right now, I can't even imagine...I would be like, 'Oh, I'm sorry. I have to leave,' all the time! I used to date, but I've always been the type to just be more involved with getting my whole life situated first, I grew up with divorce, and you find out that you need to establish yourself and find out who you are before you can let someone else in. So, I'm still finding myself. ... I'm working on my career and I'm very happy. Right now life is good, and I don't think there's really anything I'd change right now.
