About Me
Chris Carberg is an actor/producer/screenwriter/playwright who lives in the Orlando Area. A graduate of the University of Central Florida, he has appeared in numerous plays, and was Irene Ryan nominated for the play, Three Sisters. He was also a member of the cast of the KCACTF nationally recognized play, Margo Veil: An Entertainment. He began acting in 1997, appearing as an extra in There's Something About Mary, and then began to act in high school at JP Taravella High in Coral Springs, FL.He learned that the most important facet of an actors life, is his private life. He also learned that the most important quality, is that of hard work and dedication. Before anyone can begin to be an "artist" he must be able to do the mundane task of first "caring".Having done well over twenty plays, scores of TV commercials, and passionate studies in the artistic history of Stanislavski, Meyerhold, and Meisner, he ventured into his very first behind the camera role, as WRITER and PRODUCER. On the film THE OBLIVIOUS OBVIOUS, Chris wrote and produced this dark comedy about a week in the life of modern gangsters. It was directed by Chris's best friend, Vitor Santos, who Carberg would later producer for on a feature film. Following a successful showing of T.O.O., Carberg and Santos, began planning for a feature film under the guise of a modern day spaghetti western/noir film. This was the film that would become THE PRODIGAL GUNS. Their most ambitious film to date. The Prodigal Guns will be premiering in Los Angeles in the Summer of 2007, and its website is www.theprodigalguns.comIn addition to producing films, Carberg, following a bout with an addiction to painkillers, decided take the subject head on, writing, MOURNING IN BOHEMIA, which was produced at the UCF One Act Festival to rave reviews. His former high school, JP Taravella, also did BOHEMIA at the district One Act Festival, garnering a number of accolades and praise.Chris has also written, THE FALL OF BABYLON, BLACK MARKET, and most recently, his first leap into Christiandom, THE MORNING STAR. These plays are written in what Chris calls, "Duality", which is the ability to be both a screenplay, and a stageplay at once.On March 10th, 2007, Chris married his fiancee of eight months, Jenna Elizabeth Basham. To him, it was the greatest success of his life, and the center of how he governs and makes decisions. The private life of an artist, if weak, can be the first step to killing a great career. However, a private life, centered on family, and love of God will forever allow art to flourish. Jenna, the light of his life, is his muse, forever, and the muse of their life, is their relationship with God by route of Jesus Christ."Being an Artist that believes that Jesus was the son of God is not that hard to believe. It's shocking to me that anyone with the gift of creativity, could think otherwise. To deny God is to deny our creative talent and chalk it up to luck and accidents. I'm talented enough to know that it isn't an accident, and I'm humble enough to know that it could stop any day"Jenna and Chris live in Orlando where Chris is writing 2 more movies, another play, and producing a film in the fall of 2007.For more information on Chris: Visit WWW.CHRISCARBERG.COM
