Straight Ahead

Everything had started in winter of 2002/2003 when Miron Sopic (AKA Jimi, 1982) had met Ivan Jelenkovic (1988). For many people this age difference would be huge trouble in communication, but we found our way! After a while we realized that the only way to properly progress as a rock band was to make our own space for rehearsing. So in summer of 2004 two of us (with a help from friend Jovan Dorkin) made some changes on the attic of Ivan's house... and the place for music was born (the neighborhood was not thrilled about it...). Ever since than the band has been stationed in Sremchica (suburbia of Belgrade). Summer of 2004 passed really quickly in jamming, covering some classic r'n'r songs and changing singers...finally in the end of the summer Momir Djekic (AKA Nemesis, 1984) joined the group as a lead singer and rhythm-guitarist... The band chose the name "crossroads" by the famous song, but also from personal reasons (we felt our lives were a crossroad, a strange path that put us together).... After that the only instrument that band really needed to complete the sound was the bass guitar...and that turned out much more complicated than we have ever thought it might. Anyway, the band was in constant search for appropriate bass player... Most of them were very solid musicians but their musical taste, lack of dedication, lifestyle were just something that three of us weren't comfortable with. In January of 2005 Miron asked his Faculty friend Kristina Pajnik (1982) to join the band as a lead singer, side to side with Momir. Of course, we rehearsed all the time and being "bass-less" was starting to frustrate all of us...but we just kept going. In fall of 2005 Momir, unfortunately, had to leave the band for personal reasons... in a way we still consider him a part of the band, because he had very big impact on us!!! Right about that time we realized that there is another band named "Crossroads", so we lost our name too. 2006 was all about rehearsing new songs...in September of the same year there were some serious candidates for place of a bass-player...but despite of their great playing, for some reason we just didn't match... After that we really started thinking of going in public as a trio vocal/guitar/drums...but yet another change had to be made. In March of 2007 thanks to God (and myspace) Igor Pesic (1986) has reached for us...we jammed, talked, and finally found our bass player! Due to personal reasons in March of 2008 Igor decided to left the world of music in general(we wish him all the best)...and we hit the wall once again...but not for long. Old friend and long time bassist for Burning Desire, Dejan Ipach (aka Inspektor Domingez), joins the band...
