ENGLISH : Bad News starts out as a tribute band to Johnny Cash, a man whose voice and charisma marked a turning point in music writing and playing in the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s. While setting out to perform a personal interpretation of Johnny Cash's music (keeping in mind the “Man in Black†collection), Bad News relives the artist's story from the beginning to the very end. The first song by Bad News is in fact Folsom Prison Blues, the first piece composed by Cash during his service in the US Army in Germany. Bad News' style is at the same time modern and retro. In the rhythmic section the drums draws inspiration from the fast-paced and steady rhythm of a locomotive (leit motiv of many songs by Cash), followed by Francesco “Franz†Preziosi at the bass, the locomotive's actual steam. Guitar player Fabio Buzzi runs steady and confident on steel tracks, mixing the modern sounds of the solos with the rhythmic precision so typical of Cash's original recordings. Their sound is brought together by Andrea “Andyâ€'s deep voice, that in tone, accent and melody evokes Johnny Cash so much, together with his acoustic guitar. Cercando di interpretare in modo personale la musica di Johnny Cash (senza tuttavia uscire dal territorio indelebilmente segnato dalla raccolta Man In Black), i Bad News ripercorrono la storia dell’artista dagli esordi sino agli ultimi mesi di vita. Folsom Prison Blues - il primo pezzo in scaletta- è, infatti, proprio il primo brano composto da Cash durante la sua permanenza in Germania in forza all’esercito Statunitense come intercettatore. Lo stile dei Bad News è moderno e retrò allo stesso tempo. La sezione ritmica si ispira al ritmo costante e veloce di una locomotiva (leit motiv di molte canzoni di Cash) con Francesco “Franz†Preziosi, al basso. Ruote d'acciaio sulle quali sicuro e preciso viaggia Fabio Buzzi alla chitarra che ha saputo fondere insieme la modernità dei suoni negli assoli e la precisione ritmica del cosiddetto "cicca bum" o "Tapping foot"... ritmo assolutamente originale e proprio dello stile di Cash. Il tutto poi prende forma con la voce profonda e calda di Andrea “Andyâ€, che nella tonalità , nell’accento e nelle melodie, richiama alla memoria proprio Johnny Cash, insieme alla sua chitarra ritmica. In sintesi i Bad News non clonano Johnny Cash, ma ne ripercorrono il cammino, immettendo nuovi binari e nuovi scambi, cogliendo l 'anima e l' essenza di ogni brano.
