Lets talk parent to parent for a moment. I am a mother of four girls ages 16 ,14 ,12 and 7. In this day and age you cannot afford to stick your head in the sand and pretend the world is pretty. Our children are living in a war zone why are our youth cutting themselves their in pain! and there trying to deal with it any way they can. They are trying to talk to us any way they can I've been told by cutters themselves when the pain is so big you have to act out in some way to relive it! You bleed just to know your alive sometimes! If they can't tell us how there hurting on the inside perhaps they can show us how there hurting on the outside. Peers can be horrible and if we as parents are to busy to talk to or listen to our children they will go to someone that will.If your daughters start talking about there girlfriends ana and mia BE AFRAID BE VERY AFRAID these are not cute little girls with blond pigtails this is anorexia and bulimia .Why are we sending the message to are girls that doing this to there body's is ok rather than being healthy. Could it possibly be all those fashion magazines they poor over that constantly talk about diet and exercise. Or is it all the hollywood it girls putting pressure on our girls to look like models . What scares me the most is that there are websites that are teaching are daughters how to be anorexic and how to be bulimic . Girls support each other in this sick practice that is slowly becoming the accepted norm for the sports teems and cheerleaders that feel the pressure to make or lose weight the most. It dose not see sex and it dose not see color. We as mothers are even guilty to a certain degree trying to get that baby weight off trying to look sexy for the husband trying to recapture youth if were not being careful and responsible you would be amazed who your making an impression on .Are children are angry angry at life angry at school angry at home at you as parents! It's not our fault were working two jobs just to make ends meet we barely have time to talk to each other than time to sit down and talk to the kids. But we need to make time for each other and our family's. Add to My Profile | More Videos why aren't we praying with our children why aren't we as the adults setting an example for our children and looking to the church and to the almighty himself for our core values our children are bringing guns to school because there tired and angry and in pain there depressed and they will do anything to make the pain go away there are drug dealers in our schools standing outside our schools if your kid wants to find them they will children are drinking sooner teenage alcaholism is climbing at a alarming rate it's blamed for most of the auto accidents involving teens as parents we have a duty to set an example if children see you drinking they may follow suit please be careful did you know young girls now regard oral sex as common as a kiss and virginity is lost by the age of 16 why do our young girls feel they need to throw themselves at a boy to hang on to him why aren't we teaching are girls they deserve to be respected what about teaching girls there virginity is a precious gift that can only be given away once to save till marriage and what about the young men of today where are the upstanding fathers of today to teach there sons how a young lady should be treated please teach your sons when they take my daughters out they deserve to be respected why aren't we teaching our teens to have christ at the center of there relationships instead of peer pressure today is such a confusing world for our youth there just trying to figure there lives out love is love no matter where it grows they don't need our judgment they need our support they don't need our anger they need our love if two people find each other and choose to make a commitment for life it's a beautiful thing and should be legal in the bill of rights it says we have the freedom of speech yet our youth are afraid to speak up for themselves why is that our children are afraid to speak up for themselves because of CLIQUES those nasty little groups in school in church wherever they go that have the power to make them feel like dirt THE POPULAR GIRLS THE GEEKS THE GOTH'S THE EMO'S and thats just a few of them are children should be strong enough to stand up and shout to them all I for one am glad I am raising strong daughters that fight every day to be themselves we as parents owe it to our children to be the best that we can be they cannot win the war there fighting at school and with there peers if there fighting a war at home too we risk our children becoming runaways or worse are daughters selling themselves for drugs or just being loose period we need to make an effort to talk not yell hug not hit and understand not judge we as parents need to look inward what are we teaching our children are we teaching them tolerance or hate are we teaching them to love there body's or destroy them are we teaching them war is wrong but to support our soilders are we teaching them to take care of mother earth while theres still time left or are we turning a blind eye and acting like it dose not matter to you at all there is no greater truth than children learn what they live if we teach anger at home they will spread anger if they see you having an unhealthy body image they will grow one if they see you using drugs they will learn that it is ok to use them too and we cannot use the do as I say not as I do routine because they see right through that I think we as parents should all thank god weve made it this far and that god stays with them and guides us to say and do the right things to get through these difficult years and know that his eye is on the smallest sparrow so I know he watches me Chloe Agnew, of Celtic Woman, sings ''The Prayer''
