DJ LAZY K
New York’s Number 1 Female DJBeautiful, brash and talented is the only way to describe DJ Lazy K. Born in Mexico, Lazy K would find herself in Europe before winding up in New York and falling in love with Hip Hop. She started DJing in 1991 and her first goal was DJ Battles/Competitions. After winning numerous DMC competitions she set her sites on the mixtape game. She would switch her records fast, crash, blend and mix so she could set herself apart from her male competition.
"I love music!" Karina shouts as to why she became a DJ. Better known as DJ Lazy K, is far from lazy and her impressive resume proves it. She is raising the bar for a female DJ to another level as her diversified resume has shown. Causing a commotion in the clubs of New York, Miami, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles with her scratching, styling skills, DJ Lazy K has already won Justo mixtape Awards for best female DJ (four times – including 2005), Best Female DJ from Atlantic Records and Big Beat Records for the Mix Tape awards, first place in the Universal Zulu Nation Battle-DJ/ MC Clash and been featured on MTV Jams, MTV Beat Suite with Buck and Star. BET Rap City, BET 106 and Park. She is featured in the (April/2005) issue of The Source Magazine along side Rah Digga, Lala, and Remy Martin. She has also Appeared in ROLLING STONES MAGAZINE, DON DIVA, XXL, Allhiphop.com as well as appearing in the Jay-Z video, “Do It Again†and that’s only the beginning, she is the Co-CEO of the largest female movement in entertainment history, Murda Mami Entertainment.Ironically enough, being a DJ was not something that she had originally planned to be. ou know, it started out just being a hobby due to my love for graffiti and hip-hop. I started out making tapes for my Walkman. And then that led to mix tapes for friends. And before she knew it, a real demand grew for her mixes. Thus, she began honing her skills by participating in the traditional path of competitions and throwing parties. In a field notorious for being male-dominated, DJ Lazy K was able to win a lot of support and respect from her hard-bitten male peers through her talent alone-not a surprise, considering how she once successfully battled against 28 guys in one competition! But despite her huge success, it still took some time for the lovely Latina to seriously consider DJ ng as an actual, viable career. Educated in Spain and Switzerland, DJ Lazy K came to New York and initially pursued a career in nursing. In the beginning, Lazy K would work at the clinic by day and moonlight at the clubs as a DJ at night. But eventually, her popularity at the clubs forced her to choose between medicine and hip-hop, especially since the long, night hours of the club scene began to cut into her daytime life. When it became clear that she was making more as a DJ than a nurse, it became obvious that hip-hop was her true calling. And since then, there has been no looking back.Several years ago, she was offered a track by "this new hot guy" from Queens who was a protege of Run-DMC's Jam Master Jay. The freestyle rap -- a collaboration with another Queens MC, Royal Flush -- didn't seem all that special to Lazy k at the time, but the MC was "hungry and humble," so she put the track on her tape anyway. That new guy was 50 Cent. "I was the first one to put him on a mix tape," says lazy k. '" Having already worked with Puffy, Kanye West, 50 cent,Diplomats, Remy Martin , Joe Buddens, Jadakiss and Black Rob just to name a few DJ Lazy K is definitely making a name for herself. .2005 DJ model at the UPN 9 COMERCIAL FOR THE SEASON SHOWS.For Bookings Contact: LAZY K PRODUTCTIONS LLC.
