Norwich based “The Departure Lounge†burst onto the alternate music scene in June 2007 after months of creating, building and fusing a clearly signature sound that has become the stamp-of-approval in a city which has evidently needed a band like this for a good number of years.
Rewind back to the latter parts of 2007 when “Bid The World Goodbye†surfaced, and a sudden rush mimicking volcanic blasts and the resulting tremors of fans growing and growing by shouting their love for the five-piece from day one. One song, of epic proportions and a distinct sound of talent and passion in a band with an average age of just 21.
From that moment, until the present day when new tracks are on the horizon, with a fantastic 7-track-EP-for-only-one-pound leaving admirer’s content and satisfied – an album eagerly awaited for some time! Anyone can see that, for a band to almost giveaway such a large number of songs, its clearly about getting their music heard, spreading the passion of their creativeness, and pleasing fans rather than cutting budgets, and seeking profit.
A band with morals, a band with the ability to win you over in just one song, whether old or new.
