In the twilight of a mild summer night, sky clear around a bright crescent moon, I am left to reflect on Love, recent in my heart and still passionate, Lost, And no power of my own making, No words of sweet honesty Or gentle persuasion, Can undo a past that has begun to haunt me, Made of my own choices, Rich with the sin of selfishness And filled with harm done others, When I knew better but did not turn away. I know now a soul of pure intent Cannot embrace the taint of past wrong in another, Even redeemed, For an Angel not fallen Cannot abide less than Heaven's glory, Deserving flight with a soul of equal repute. And in this twilight hour, Under the shimmering light of this crescent moon, I know what winged power I could be once again And fly once more among the clouds, But I must fly apart, with those like myself, That not only touched the Earth, But travailed deeper into the womb of Chaos, and now are forever transformed......!
