Twinkle...Grieving for Little Harry Rabbit.

I am here for Friends

About Me

Hi there! My Name's Twinkle, as you have probably learnt already! and I'm a sweet (if I do say so myself!) little black rabbit, so named because of my one white toe. This toe looked more obvious when I was tiny...
My human Mummy considers me to be very special indeed; I was the "runt" of my (unexpected!)litter of 6 and would often be discovered cold and alone as the others trampled over me in a bid for my mum's affection.
Turned out well for me though! Manda, my human Mummy took pity on me and became very attached to my cute self. She took me into her giant human hutch so that I could live with her. I am very well behaved. And potty trained too!
However, I was hit with more bad luck at one year old, when I developed deadly Myxomatosis - even though I had been vaccinated :( I was poorly for some time (about 4 months) but Manda nursed me back to health and I'm now fit as a fiddle! I do have scarring on my left eye, but Mummy still thinks I'm handsome!
Well I hope you enjoy looking at my little page and I look forward to saying "Hi!" to you all individually.
Keep on Binkying!!

My Interests

..
TWINKLE LOVE'S IT.......

My Favourite Things To Do.

*Lounging about and munching my fave foods periodically. *Sitting on my potty for lengthy periods of time, day dreaming and attempting to put the world to rights. *Mooching about the garden smelling interesting smells. Cuddles and being stroked on my nose, cheeks, back and chin. *Tearing up papers (this can make Mummy cross, depending upon what the papers WHERE..!) *Tearing shreds off my grassy mat *Nibbling my ribbon. *Bunny flopping! *Watching TV with my Mummy. As long as the volume is LOW.

My Favourite Places To Be.

*Upon my Mummy's bed, snuggled up next to her whilst she sleeps. I'm her guard bunny. BEWARE!!
*Underneath my Mom's bed. She has sliding doors there, supposedly for storage. I like to store myself there 'cos it's warm, quiet and cozy!

My Favourite Eats.

*Seeds (Pumpkin and Sunflower) *Nuts (brazil, cashew, hazel and macademia) *Carrots (stale one's please; I don't care for fresh ones. *Celery (Oooh... 'specially the leafy parts. Save those for me please) *Freshly picked grass. By either myself - or if I'm feeling lazy; my human. *Hay (green hay please. Not the yellow stuff; I don't like it) *Rich tea biccys (PLEASE don't tell my Vet for goodness' sake!) *Dark Rye Rivita (as above) *Brown seeded bread (ditto) *Parsley (I would binky through hoops of fire for this) *Apple (Gala or Golden delicious please - not too fond of any other variety)

My Favourite Things.

*My teddies.. In particular; Sammy Seal (he looks like me!) .. I love to lie along side them and give them bunny kisses.

Twinkle HATES it.....

Going to the Vets (obvious really!) Noise (includes TV's.... MUM!!!) The Cat (no offence, but she scares me) Having my TWINKLE-Toenails trimmed. My Mummy when she disappears to that place she calls "Work". I hate "Work". I think my Mum does too, sometimes....

ANIMAL CRUELTY.Particularly... Animal Testing.

Use of FUR............ Why?

Did you know..... That Proctor and Gamble STILL insist upon testing their products on animals? That they're main animal group is Lagomorphs (us! Gulp.) And despite alternatives out there... They REFUSE to use those methods?

Proctor and Gamble are only interested in MAKING MONEY. They use MILLIONS MORE animals than any other company (Uncaged 2007) because they like to have that "edge" over rival firms.

You'll understand what I mean, just look at their Ad's.... "Whiter Whites"; "New,Improved" etc.... If you REALLY want whiter whites, then that additional chemical HAS to be tested.

My human has done some research into P&G. Do not be fooled by them. Upon sending an E mail questioning their methods, she was given the Classic "3 R's" response... Reduction, Refinement, Replacement of animals used... Ther is simply NO excuse to use animals at all!

P&G really don't care for animals. Oh, well... perhaps cats and dogs: "We make sure the dogs and cats we work with receive the best care". Yes but you use rabbits more than ANY species!!!!!! What about rabbits, and other small animals for that matter?

How speciest.

Please, please, PLEASE avoid P&G products... Listed below:

My Mummy Heidi... She had to have one of her pretty eyes removed as has sustained a tooth abscess... She managed bravely for about 2 Months, but then sadly passed. I miss you Mummy.. Here she is, giving Uncle Harry a smooch!

Little Sophie. She was Rescued from a life of misery in a tiny hutch where she was imprisoned, without access to sunshine or freedom, for 6 years. She lived a happy 2 years at Mum's house and even found romance!

Sophie began to show signs of being a little poorly, and when the Vet examined her, she found a tumour. Mummy kept her comfortable, but even on her very last days, Sophie kept on giving her Husbun Button, sweet kisses...
