How come when I hear the term battered women I think of fried foods?

About Me

Currently bounce between my townhouse in Oregon (where I work) and my house in Washington. The roads are starting to be free of ice so I'm having withdrawals and get out when it's sunny. I love to cook, and am pretty good at it, a lot can be said about a man when you ask him if he can cook. If you ask, and he hitches up his "britches" (britches is usually a clue), grabs a beer, then reaches for more than a gallon of any flamable liquid (to include napalm) to start the grill. The casting of a ceremonial offering onto a funeral pyre does not really mean a person can cook. Not belittling grilling, I do know my way around a BBQ, as well as a wok, and stainless steel cookware. Going on my third year being cancer free, next scan will tell. Every day since my last treatment I've tried to enjoy life a little more, look at things a little different. My favorite saying these days is "I guess it's all perspective". No matter how bad things are, at least you're still alive and there's almost always a way things could've been worse, right?

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

New and interesting people to amuse me in my hum drum life...Anyone wondering where their comments went, nothing personal, every once in a while you gotta cull the herd to make room for the next generation...

www.thyca.org Thyroid Cancer Survivors website

Music:

I listen to EVERYTHING, I've got over 22,000 songs on my computer right now, along with all the discs, vinyl, and cassettes strewn throughout the house and shed. The current mantra is listening to the Sirius in my truck and saying "I got that" everytime any song plays...

Movies:

Television:

Numbers, NCIS, The Unit, and can't get enough of the military channel, or FoodTV, especially Alton Brown on Good Eats.

Books:

Heroes:

I guess I'd have to say Cousteau and all of his research has fascinated me since I was little, if it weren't for him I'd not be able to SCUBA, right?
