I want to be geisha!

About Me

okay hey. dance rocks my socks. I am going to burn my pointe shoes at the end of the schoolyear and then I will never have to wear those torture devices again...praise jesus. I am a feminist, and proud of it baby. Next year I am going to CalArts. I can't wait to see the sun after spending 17 years in northern michigan, excluded from almost all forms of light in general. I am not very good at the myspace game of keeping in touch...I go for months without even remembering that I have a myspace to keep up with. It's a lot of work, but now that my senioritis has entered the most severe stages I will probs be spending more time doing pointless shit instead of my homework...besos, peace.

My Interests

subathing..it just makes me feel really warm. Another favorite pastime of mine is taking a shower. Naps, cuddling with Hota (my beso), playing dress-up, eating icecream, dancing in the studio alone at night, screaming across the lake on bad days, practicing graduation on bad days, going on bra parades at midnight with neighbors, playing capture the lawn ornaments with all of of lower mcwhorter, jumping in every single puddle on campus when it rains, and other stuff that I can't think of right now.

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet the person who invented gatorade...god I love my elecrolytes.

Music:

Ani Difranco, Dave Matthews Band, Alanis Morisette, Belle and Sebastion, Coldplay, Rusted Root, Down the Line, Joni Mitchell, Postal Service, Seth Bernard, Maroon 5, Tori Amos, Phish, Fiona Apple, Thievery Corporation, Damien Rice, Prince, Ben Harper, the list goes on and on. Basically I'll give anything a chance once...oh yeah, I almost forgot, Joanna Newsom!!! She's my beso.

Movies:

at good old interlochen we don't really get the chance to see a lot of movies, ocasionally they'll treat us with a dinner and movie bus. (god i love riding to the movie theatre in a yellow school bus.) But, my roomate and I recently invested in netflix. so we've seen some pretty good ones lately...North Country, Boys Don't Cry, Iron Jawed Angels, Life is Beautiful, and of course...my absolute favorite movie of all time...DICK.

Television:

not that we ever have much time for idle pleasures like television at IAA, but when the chance does roll around (ie. over the breaks) all that is ever on is re-runs. but hey that's not a problem because i never watched the show in the first place. Um..drama shows are sometimes fun, like ER. It just makes my life feel un-complexified (?) all of a sudden. I kinda hate all of those CSI shows. The plot gets a little dry for me. I mean every episode it's the same damn thing...someone dies and they have to figure out how. Can't say that genre really intrigues me. Guess that forensics isn't in my list of future dream jobs. I do like watching some talk shows. Like i love the Ellen Degeneres show. not such a fan of the Oprah show. All the MTV shows kinda piss me off, like what is really the point of "Date My Mom"?. I'll never know.

Books:

I just started to get interested in reading again this year when I took a Women In Literature Class. Now that I hate my second semester english class I've stopped reading the assigned texts and decided to read about things I actually care about...mostly feminist literature. I am in a woman and gender studies group on campus and we've discussed some great articles and stuff. My roomate, Hota, tells me to read "The Red Tent", so that will probs be among the next few books I enjoy.

Heroes:

Hota Nelson, my big sis, Alice Paul, all the women in this world who have had to put up with the shit of living in a partriarchal society.
