Jims Side Project

Yes, it is a Spinal Tap reference...

About Me

MyGen Profile GeneratorBored, and feeling slightly superior, The Mighty Jim set out on a voyage to the far flung reaches of the internet looking for a reasonably priced home studio. Failing to find one which fitted his budget of £32.50 he set about creating a Myspace account which would do to fill the time between this moment of boredom and payday. Knowing that in his box of songs there are enough random pieces of material to keep himself amused with a USB plug in studio for the next several months he continued typing this piece of tripe blurb only with the intention of keeping himself entertained. Momentarily stopping to eat fruit pastilles he wondered if The Ballad of The Stalker might be a little too much for the world...A few days later, still waiting for his recording equipment to arrive, Jim noticed that his Myspace site for his side project had not received alot of attention... Unsurprised at this he started adding big name bands as friends for a bit of a laugh, not really wanting to bother any of the real people he knew until he had something to blow their ears off with.Upon receipt of his first pieces of equipment, The Mighty Jim hurriedly ripped open the shiny boxes and plugged bits together with quiveringly excited hands. A few days later, still having trouble getting recording levels right due to having not bought any monitors as he hoped he could get away with a cheap fix he still did not have the sound he wanted to record The Ballad Of The Stalker with. Jim sought the advice of wise and knowing sages... Nothing shall stop the emergence of the Side Project.Having spoken with various gimflid shop assistants who tried to make him spend upwards of £250 to solve his problem, Jim chose to follow his instincts and spent £23 on stuff which might help. It did. Although he really needs a better microphone Jim decided to put a demo of his first track online anyway...A couple of days later, and after a protracted "learning session" in which Jim found that in order to get an aiff file to become an MP3 file he needed to download itunes, write an audio CD, put the audio track into Windows as a WMA file, and then use Divx converter to make it an MP3 track,, Jim was very tired. He decided that as the thing worked now he'd better not play with it any more, and that he would probably send out annoying bulletins saying that his first track would go live on Sunday for the next two days anyway... just to piss people off.
