About Me

Born in California (the Bay Area). My dad's job moved so that's how we ended up in Kansas City. Yes, there is a difference between KC, Missouri and KC, Kansas...It's called a STATE BORDER! And it runs through the middle. Yes, two different cities in two different states but they're looked at as one metro area. Our sports teams (The Chiefs and The Royals) are Missouri teams. They do not play in Kansas.
I'm out of the Army and love being a civilian again. The military, it's a nice place to visit but I wouldn't wanna live there. I'm taking general education classes so I can start Paramedic classes. I have to ease back into school, too, because it's been a while ('98) since I was in high school. Good news is is it's all paid for by Uncle Sam...all i had to do is put in $1,200 (which gives you $36,000 for school) and sell my soul to him for 4 years. That's a steal of a deal...who needs a soul anyways.
I have strong political opinions. I don't get my version of the "truth" from Fox News. They practice hack journalism on a regular basis. A "Fair & Balanced" channel that always just so happens to agree with the republicans and attacks any democrat. Imagine that. Just one example: False attack on Obama. You wonder why Fox News viewers are some of the most mis-informed idiots around. The same scare tactics that work for the Bush administration and their crack down on civil liberties are the same tactics that work on Fox News viewers. Here's a site exposing Fox News (also known as Faux News).
I believe:
---Church and state should be separate completely
---Abortion is a woman's choice
---"Intelligent Design" is religious opinion masquerading as science. It's called Pseudo-Science (fake science)and should be kept out of public schools.
---I believe in equal opportunity...For EVERYBODY! That includes women, minorities and gay. I don't care if you think gay men/women are evil...it's a religious opinion. Keep your church out of my state!
---The Iraq war was started on deliberately false pretenses and is an unjustified war.
---We have bankrupted this country. We have undermined America's power and credibility.
---The "war on drugs" is pointless. People crowding the prisons for fucking marijuana and cocaine.
---Republican philosophy favors big businesses and the rich.
---We are moving toward a "nanny state". We have let the government take far too many of our civil liberties. They use the old tactic of fear-mongering. It still works for them daily. They gain most of their power during time of war and never give it back. It's not that the people like Bush enact these invasive laws with bad intentions of spying on innocent Americans. The problem lies in the future when you have given the executive branch of the White House too much power. In the future, at some point, it will be used in a bad way. Guaranteed. It will be too late by then, though. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. We are giving the government too much power to get a little temporary safety.
In a perfect world the Libertarian Party would be ideal. In the real world, I lean Democrat. I think both sides have good points but I refuse to vote for the republican party because their politics are based in religious points of view. I cannot stand self-righteous, right-wing people. Everything is so simple to them. They are conditioned to not having to think. They don't really know what the other side thinks because they haven't looked at it in depth. They just know that it goes against what they believe and therefore satan is involved.
They are unwilling to even admit that what they believe is just as crazy as the next person's beliefs. I'd have much more respect for them if they would just be honest and say "I know it sounds crazy but I just feel like this is right. I respect your opinion but I choose to believe this". But they don't do that. They condemn everyone and force their view of the world on everyone else. I believe religious people have single handedly held back scientific and personal progress ever since religion was founded. If it was up to them, we would still believe the universe revolved around the earth. What I find funny is the religious right is always saying that America is the greatest country in the world because we're such a free country. They're full of shit because they only want freedom for people if it conforms to what they believe. Their morals and their beliefs. Ever notice how the most small-minded people live in the suburbs or the country. They don't see anything outside of their small, insulated surroundings. They lock themselves in their little worlds and watch Fox news and anything that is different from their white, republican Christian way of life is demonized.
They don't even realize that the majority of their beloved "christian" founding fathers were actually Deists . The "God" referred to in documents written by them was a Deist God. They believed in a creator but not one that dealt with or spoke to people personally (known as inspired religion). They knew enough about the history of "inspired" religions to know that it's never a good outcome when a country runs a government based on one particular religion. Logic and reason has never worked with Americans though. The fight continues. ..
