Mic (microphone) Hempstead is a multi talented, skillful, and bilingual workhorse of Southern Cali's HipHop and Reggae scene. As an emcee, Hempstead is an untouchable force equipped with multiple lyrical styles and concepts, including rap and dancehall/reggaeton in English and Spanish. Mic began performing on stage since the early days of Wu Tang ,2pac, and Biggie. In a span of 13 years in the scene, Hempstead has been is such groups like Y.I.P Youth International Party, Freedom Smugglers, and the Activists. Hempstead has collaborated musically with artists such as Dj DREZ, Rakaa Iriscience of Dilated Peoples, LMNO of the Visionaries and many more. He recently released his second solo album with Dj Clouded Daily and is currently working with a live Reggae/HipHop stylee named called Razteca Movement alongside musician and younger brother I Chief one. His most latest project is a live cd called "Sounds of Poverty" that was released late summer of 2006 with a west coast tour to accompany the release. He is currently in the studio finishing up his next project "The Rise of Malinalli," due April 2007. For now, he is taking some well deserved time off from a hard working 2006 year on stage.
