You can't be all things to all people.
You can't do all things at once.
You can't do all things equally well.
You can't do all things better than everyone else.
Your humanity is showing just like everyone else's.
So....
You have to find out who you are, and be that.
You have to decide what comes first and do that.
You have to discover your strengths, and use them.
You have to learn not to compete with others because no one else is
in the contest of "being you".
Then....
You will have learned to accept your own uniqueness.
You will have learned to set priorities and make decisions.
You will have learned to live with your limitations.
You will have learned to give yourself the respect that is due and
you'll be a being that's vitally alive.
Dare To Believe....
That you are a wonderful unique person.
That you are a once-in-all-history event.
That it's more than a right, it's your duty, to BE WHO YOU ARE.
That life is not a problem to solve, but a gift to cherish, and
you'll be able to stay one up on what used to get you down.

I’ve been......
hoping for a respite,
an escape from what’s inside,
to put the thoughts I’ve had to rest
and grab a little peace of mind.
For I’m...
searching for a window so I can see my self-respect,
to turn those mass of voices... into whispers I forget,
and spend a little time with the joy of life I knew,
to push aside delusions, with the things I know are true.
I want to
rise above the constant fear
for a dream to call my own,
and finally find a life I can call
home.
I am......
tired of the struggle,
with all that batters me without,
strung out by the superficial hope
that existence is about.
Now I’m...
desperate for a solid which can anchor what’s adrift,
to calm the raging waters... for my own damned benefit,
and achieve a little silence to the din that works my soul,
to recover the remaining bits, of what had made me whole.
I want to
eradicate the constant pain
with the lies I have been shown,
and find a piece of me I can call
home.

I am not god, I'm not the devil -
I'm worse than both combined,
my darkened soul has intercourse
with the goodness in my mind.
Those better angels of my nature -
who battle the demons within,
fight with honor but are outnumbered
and get violated in the end.
Intentions pure and uncorrupted -
are raped by neurotic whims
surrender is but a horizon away
when there's just no way to win.
Sanity streams from vacant eyes -
lucidity won't remain,
so scratch an 'X' across my heart
and save yourself some pain.

"Vampire" by Lillith D. Charm, appeal, charisma…it all seems so benign.
But beneath this façade of benevolence lies a creature one can't define.
Vision keen, senses sharp…it searches night and day.
The scent of loneliness like a sweet perfume, drives the beast toward it's prey.
The victim found, it awaits a chance to begin another game.
Faces change with each new quest… but it will play out just the same.
With soothing words, like a sweet caress…defenses have been dropped.
The weakness found it zeros in, no way it can be stopped.
Hunger builds, so with cunning skill it finds a tender vein.
It's victim so enthralled, beguiled it doesn't feel the pain.
So willing to surrender, the victim bares it's need.
With a sigh of satisfaction, the beast begins to feed.
The taste of need and loneliness… like honey to the beast.
It takes it's time and revels in this misbegotten feast.
But once the hungers sated…it's interest starts to wane.
It cares not for the victim…or for the victim's pain.
It walks away…it's victim left even emptier than before.
With it's eyes now trained on another heart, it starts the game once more.

Whispers of crystal now set in the dark
Shining so clearly in a world bleak and stark
Teaching me only the things I should know
Words so beguiling, intriguing and low
Leading me just where you want me to go
The give and the take, the ebb and the flow
Like an ocean of darkness with luminous swell
Taking me places that reason won’t tell
To move and to stay at your every command
My will is for you, I am under your hand
You take me to places of heat and of light
Exalted sensations are found in the night
In structure my freedom has wings to unfold
And I fly when by your lordly will I am bold
You know how to stoke this dark fire inside
I give myself to you, no small thing will I hide
Your words are my beacon, my shepherd, my mark
My thoughts drift to remember them here in the dark
As my hand slips ’neath silk and we kindle the fire
We bring to a climax this night’s lambent pyre
