"I've dined with kings, I've been offered wings, but I've never been too impressed." -Bob Dylan
I'm a former small town girl, an avid prankster, spur-of-the-moment road tripper, volunteer at heart, occasional wild child and a clearly unsuccessful athlete in any regard (I try.) I have a lot of drive, value my independence, am a proverbial self critic and an optimist who wants to help out this world as much as I can. Nothing makes me feel more alive than helping others.
I dig passionate people and motivation- be that in ones talent, job, education, etc... it's the most attractive thing to me. My family is my heart and my friends, music, reading and writing are my soul. I lived in Spain for a bit and have been chomped on (bitten by being too restrained a phrase,) by the travel bug. Enter: wanderlust.
Haha, but really now, no matter what I write here I'm going to sound like a jackass filling out an about me box so moving on...
Where I'm from:
Vallecito, CA
Where I was:
Santa Barbara, CA
Where I'm at: Austin, TX
Things To Know About Amanda:
1.) LOVES wearing "old women shirts" as dresses.
**Me: "Ooo what about this one?!"
**Lex: "It's very... Amanda."
2.) Irrationally terrified of under-water trees and walking on wet surfaces.
3.) Good wine + Apples to Apples = happiness.
4.) I will not remember your name until the 15th time we've met, apologies.
5.) Chances are I have chopped / dyed / changed back and changed my mind about my hair a million times since I've met you. This fact is consistent.
6.) If I'm late it's because I was cleaning my room. Always.
7.) I work in investment banking (and I'm still trying to convince Nick that he's thrilled they didn't hire someone with a lack luster personality.)
8.) Yes, I am probably the youngest person in your group of friends.
9.) Politically incorrect jokes and fantastic pranking schemes will win me over.
10.) Take me off of your "mass text" list, I hate them.
11.) Music + unplanned excursions + writing = life.
12.) I have the most indefesible "dancing face" (..much to my dismay this look tends to manifest itself on countless roles of film.)
13.) Oddly addicted to hidable tattoos.
14.) If given the opportunity I would eternally live in the month of October surrounded by pumpkins. I'm dead serious.
15.) Total broken record (who will tell you the exact same story 50 times unless stopped mid-sentence.)
16.) Lately I've found myself attracted to guys who look like Jesus... don't know what that's all about.
...and if you don't know, now you know. ;)

Interesting enough... (that may be a gracious hope)

I gave up trying to be cool my sophomore year in high school.  Or at least I gave up believing that I was trying to be cool.  I took the blue pill and happily convinced myself that...

At 22 years old I really have no expectations of knowing or understanding what my place in this world is supposed to me, much less what it is.  There are an infinite number of things th...

Honesty if you'll have it.

There once was a little girl named Amy:   She grew up in the town of Vallecito, nestled in the foothills of California's Sierra Nevada Mountains, a neighbor to the frog jumping fair and jubilee.&...

Ditching the umbrella

Maybe it's all of the scotch and spiked hot chocolate; or perhaps it's this state just prior to a self-induced diabetic coma from holiday sweets. Either way, something about this time year always ins...

It's just shy of 1 am.  Notoriously a night owl, I have decided to go to sleep "early" since I'll wake up before 7am regardless.   My phone is on silent, I turned the lights down before sp...
