Since its founding more than 25 years ago, Clayton College of Natural Health has been at the forefront of two of the most important revolutions of our time. The natural health revolution has changed the way we look at healthcare and empowered individuals to take responsibility for their own health. The distance learning revolution, which made education more accessible and more affordable, has enabled Clayton College to bring this powerful knowledge to a new generation of natural health enthusiasts and practitioners.

As the natural health revolution has become an evolution, Clayton College has evolved with it. Today our on-site faculty includes experts in many of the natural health modalities as well as healthcare professionals with a holistic orientation such as nurses, chiropractors, and even medical doctors.

Setting the standard in the field of natural health education, Clayton College has continually enhanced programs, expanded course offering, and improved services to meet the needs of students at every level. In 2007 Clayton College began offering students and graduates access to Natural Standard© database, the natural health library resource used by leading universities including Harvard, Duke, Yale, and Stanford. We currently offer a wide range of degree programs in traditional naturopathy, natural health, and holistic nutrition, as well as a variety of certificate and/or concentration programs, and continuing education for graduates.

Clayton College pioneered the distance learning approach to natural health. Today new technologies enable us to close the “distance” and enhance the learning experience for our students. Our online learning platform, WebCT©, provides features and capabilities that enrich the Clayton College educational experience. Our online library resource, Natural Standard©, is an invaluable tool for students and practitioners. Regardless of the technology, our faculty is available eight hours a day, five days a week, by phone, fax, or e-mail. To bring us closer still, our annual natural health conference provides students and graduates the opportunity to meet faculty and staff as well as many of today’s leaders in natural health and holistic nutrition. Another exciting development has been the founding of Natural Reader Press, which seeks to promote the ideas and concepts of traditional naturopathy by publishing both new and classic works in this field, thus giving voice, form, and shape to the heart of naturopathic philosophy.

Through all of the changes and growth since 1980, our guiding principles have remained the same. We are still motivated by the deep conviction that the individual can and must take responsibility for his or her own health — that the power to lead healthier lives resides deep within each of us. While we are educating an increasing number of healthcare professionals, we have never lost our focus on the individual natural healer whose desire for our revolutionary programs has energized and inspired us from the beginning.

Whatever has brought you here, whether it is a personal experience or a professional challenge, you can be sure of finding at Clayton College a committed community of natural health practitioners and educators. For more than 25 years, we have been educating the leaders of natural health. Join us in the revolution!
