O.N.K. is a 6 piece ska band from Los Angeles who formed 2002. This band's original intent was to be a four piece punk band with the founding members being, of course, Oscar, Gilbert, Victor, and Bobby. That intent would later change after the addition of a horn section. The band, including the horn section, was formed around the time the ska scene seemed to be fading and the punk scene was pogressing. It was as though the backyard ska scene was coming to an end, but the we continued to practice and play regardless of the scenes situation and the lack of organization backyard shows had at the time. The first of the horn section to join was Adrian, who had little experience or confidence upon his arrival. The second to join was Josh, who graciously joined even though ska wasn't his preferred style. Noe came next, but soon quit to join Left Alone, although we were shocked, we held no grudges for said band. The last of the horns to join, and stay, was Billy who, luckily, has had experience with other ska bands. Other's would join, but were let go, if not fired, due to lack of dedication. In 2006 O.N.K. finally released our first album which was soon followed by the resignation of Gilbert, our lead singer.We lost our drummer to the INS which lead us to take a break while we re-group we found a new drummer JD (Danny) and a new guitarrist Danny and our reunion show on Jan. 18 with lead man Gilbert ONK is once again ready for new music.
