About Me

I'm your (now) typical college graduate who didn't know what to do with her liberal arts degree... so, I took the natural next step and joined AmeriCorps, as a VISTA (yep...that'd be volunteer in service to america). I spent last year "working" as a VISTA in St Paul, running a tutoring program for elementary kids. When that year was up, surprisingly enough, I still didn't know what to do with myself... so, somewhat on a whim, I decided to move to Madison to do a second year of AmeriCorps, with a project that also involves tutoring little kids and helping them learn to read.So... when I'm not saving kids from illiteracy (ummm, right!), I'm planning on going to law school at UW-Madison this fall... not sure I actually want to be a lawyer, but I do think law school could open some doors for me. We'll see. That's my current plan. I do want to use whatever skills I have to help people- however cheezy that sounds, it's the truth. I want my life to be fulfilling, not filled with 70 hour work weeks in some crazy big firm.Otherwise, I'm all about having a good time. I've recently gotten seriously involved in kickball, I like going for long walks, I've become something of a whiskey drinker (although I also enjoy good beer... or anything free, really, what can I say? I'm a slave to America and slaves don't make much!), reading was my favorite thing to do as a kid (can we say nerd?) and I still love getting into really good books... I'm attempting to grow plants now, I'm always attempting to keep a journal...And, that's about it. For now.

SNACKULATION.

Finally, the folks behind the "I love cheese" website have created an ingenious way to answer the question we all secretly ask ourselves: "What kind of cheese snacker am I?"  It's the snackulator...
