I play two sports, drinking and shopping. Otherwise: Being unemployed (but no longer homeless), reading way too much, movies, traveling, getting ready to move before I finish unpacking, being the princess, gray areas, going out for dinner or eating anything I didn't cook, cookbooks but not cooking, changing my clothes, jazzercise, my broken neck, riding my bike, summertime, complaining about Florida, human stupidity, craigslist/NYC, good spelling, black humor, sushi, train crashes, opportunities provided by higher education, including not doing my homework, and pointing out the obvious.
boys with brown eyes or australian accents; people who like reading better than tv; victims of wanderlust; a cheap mechanic; sarcastic jerks; global thinkers; old friends into new shit; bad novelists; tatooed monkeys; someone who will give me a job abroad; Bridget Jones; spies, contract assassins and palm readers. Oh, and people I already know.

I like books. I like libraries, and bookstores. I like novels and stories, classics, textbooks, etc etc etc...I'm compulsive here, so in no particular order, but my favorites first...Oryx & Crake, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close (this is the best book I've read in a long, long while - go get it), Broken for you (actually, ditto), Middlesex, People of Paper, Hatter Fox, stuff by Kurt Vonnegut, the Fountainhead, Dune, Phillipa Gregory, Jane Austen, Cat's Eye, bridget jones, Choke, Our Man in Havana, End of the Affair, the Nick Adams stories, Emma, Papillon, John Irving, Nick Hornby, Margaret Atwood--anything by Margaret Atwood, comics of Lenore the cute little dead girl, memoirs, magazines about politics, news, foreign affairs, liberal rantings, food and clothes, anything that happens to be left on my table, desk, or in the office kitchen.
Babybrother, for being the only person I know who comes even close to being as cynical and cranky as I am.
