The greatest movie ever made, in my humble opinion, is the little known 1980 film The Earthling, starring William Holden and a young Rick Schroder. Unfortunately, this film has never been released on DVD. You can probably find a VHS copy for thirty or forty bucks and you should.
I also like Asian movies and have found that Korean movies, like Daisy, are especially good.
