Signature

Comprised of three young men with a passion for music, the members of Signature possess vocal skills with the power to ignite the soul. Dijuan, Kartier and DéP (pronounced deep) are all driven by a strong desire to take R & B back to its roots while producing a sinfully soulful sound with a street edge. Each member has both a unique personality and voice, which brings an eclectic yet harmonious feel to their work, and provides a rich emotional sound. Signature’s sole purpose is to maintain the integrity of R & B and stay true to the notion of pure, raw talent as well as adding their own unique texture to “re-set the standard” of music. “We want to leave an imprint on music, something our kids can take pride in.”
Dijuan has a rich musical background and history which has provided him with a solid foundation. He was entered into countless talent competitions and was pushed to sing at a very young age. His love for music and sound was cultivated on the streets of Harlem where he would practice with other musically inclined associates. During his journey he was introduced by a mutual friend to Kartier.
As the son of a local church Bishop, Kartier was thrust into the musical spotlight at the tender age of four. Heavily influenced by Gospel and various other forms of music, the church nurtured his skills as a vocalist and a drummer. Once Kartier and Dijuan began to work together, their bond and vocal ability reached new heights and eventually Signature was born.
Signature was determined that nothing was going to stop them, and continued to polish their sound and look for any opportunity to progress in music. They continued to develop their skills as vocalists, writers, and producers. Using any and all resources put before them, they “hit the streets” in order to produce and obtain new music, squeeze in studio time, and find opportunities to perform. Music had become their life, “You can’t just love it, you gotta live it.”
Over the next several years, Signature had many ups and downs, introducing various new members, who never seemed to quite fit. Signature had a strong desire to add a member so in 2006, they began an exhaustive search for another strong vocalist. While many talented people auditioned, no one was a perfect fit. Through a musical associate they were introduced to a singer from the south; his name was DéP.
As a well known vocalist and pianist from Houston, DéP has been immersed in the music scene since childhood, his experience and talent became an asset to Signature. Having worked with numerous legends in the industry, as well as building a strong solo career for himself, DéP’s unique sultry flavor was just the ingredient needed to make Signature whole. His powerful vocals and knowledge of music instantly gained him favor with the other members of Signature. It was as though DéP had always been there and as a welcome addition, solidified their signature harmony.
Since that time, Signature has been working diligently to produce the sound that will re-define R&B. Their Gospel, Neo-Soul, R & B, Jazz, and Hip-Hop influences can be heard throughout their music causing their listeners to appreciate every ounce of passion they put into their Signature sound. When asked about the future, they simply say, "It’s not official, until it’s signed!”
