Generally? I generally sleep 10 hours a night, wear SPF 15 during the day to defy the aging process (per Loreal's advice), shuffle paperwork to ensure my employment, dustbust my apartment, overanalyze until my head hurts, listen to music to fuel my daydreams about becoming a rock star, and bite the hell out of my fingernails. I sometimes make it a point to sit and look at cute guys--because I'm hetero like that, watch baseball, eat organic, cry for an hour, laugh until I sound like a barking seal, and shop for clothes. While alseep, I rarely dream about Brad Pitt and I've never had a desire to climb Mt. Everest. Sorta covers it...not really.
SARAH and TORI. SYLVIA PLATH, NATALIE WOOD AND AUDREY HEPBURN. THEIR GHOSTS WOULD PROBABLY SEND ME TO THE LOONEY BIN, BUT WHAT THE HELL?
Apparently, I'm on an Erasure-kick at the moment. Some favorite songs/pieces include Pearl Jam's "Rearview Mirror", Tori Amos' "Tear in Your Hand", The Beatles "Blackbird", Beethoven's "Piano Concerto No. 2", and Sarah McLachlan's "Hold On". Bush's "16th Stone" is a great album and I've kicked back to my "Toad the Wet Sprocket" stuff during the best and worst of times. I'll always keep a place in my soul for Nirvana and Alice in Chains and Carole King's music won't ever get old. I often fall asleep listening to The Piano soundtrack and for some bizarre reason, Ive always liked Celtic music.
Films about smart, strong, fucked up women that make me cry time and time again-- "Sophie's Choice", "Terms of Endearment", and "The Hours" top the list. Big fan of Jack Nicholson movies--he's probably the only asshole on the planet that I'm okay with. I think everyone should fall in love with their best friend like Keith and Watts did in "Some Kind of Wonderful". I have yet to meet a preppie that looks like Charles Windsor IV (or is it III) in "Mystic Pizza" and I fell in love with "The Graduate" in my college film class. "Goodfellas" makes me want to be in jail, so that I can eat really good Italian food and I'll never get Boomerang's: "I bet we've eaten everything on a pig from the rooter to the tooter," out of my head. I think that "Love Actually" is simply a plain, good movie and "The Motorcycle Diaries" delivers a beautiful love story to South America. Word to your mother...Emily Watson's face is the soundtrack to "Breaking the Waves" New movies-- Quite fond of the hilarious, quirky, blunt, creatively-talkative, and adorable Juno.
Besides "LOST", I like well written coming of age stories and what can I say? The WB delivered. Felicity will forever be one of my girls and I'll always wonder whether Joey and Pacey are still together. When I was a kid, I looked to Laura Ingalls and Wonder Woman for guidance. I won't pay for cable, so instead, I pay to rent Nip Tuck and Queer as Folk from Blockbuster. I'm weird like that. Speaking of weird... "Boston Legal". And of course, there's "Gray's Anatomy"...McDreamy brain surgeon. Need I say more?
At 10, I cried when "A Wrinkle in Time" took me to a different planet. When I was 15, "The Count of Monte Cristo" assumed different identities while I considered changing mine. At 25, I held "A Widow for a Year" in my hands when I fell off my bed with hysterical laughter. A year later, "The Poisonwood Bible" told me that shit happens to everyone. When I was 29, I went crazy in "The Bell Jar" and at 31, I read "In Cold Blood", possibly my favorite book of all time.---LAUREX...It takes me wherever I want to go.
