The purpose of the Amnesty International Denmark Sudan Group is first and foremost to raise awareness of the human
rights abuses taking place in Sudan, and at present in particular in the region of Darfur, where one the world's worst
humanitarian crises is currently unfolding. And secondly, to attract attention to the work being carried out by
Amnesty International to promote the internationally recognized human rights.
The Sudan group is run by members of the Danish section of Amnesty International on a voluntary basis.
