I am here for Friends

About Me

I hate Apple.

My Interests

Music, summertime, reading, sleeping, writing, my kitties, traveling, working out when I'm not too lazy, writing angry letters to Apple CEO Steve Jobs...oh, and posting silly photos of Stephen on his MySpace page. ;-)

I'd like to meet:

Other people who hate Apple computers.

Music:

I like many types of music, but mostly '80s BritPop and '80s Hair Metal. The Cure, Depeche Mode, New Order, Tricky, Pulp, the Stone Roses, Nine Inch Nails, Clinic--and my old faves Skid Row, Poison, Warrant, Faster Pussycat and Scatterbrain. Electric Grandmother, The Blacks.

Movies:

I'm not a big movie person, but: Donnie Darko, Dazed and Confused, Lost and Delirious, SLC Punk, Immortal Beloved, Run Lola Run, Love Actually, 24 Hour Party People, Dig!, All About Eve, Camille, Eagle vs. Shark.

Television:

HBO! Sex and the City (RIP), Carnevale (RIP), Six Feet Under (RIP), Flight of the Conchords. And I have a weakness for some MTV and VH1 reality shows, like Beauty and the Geek and Rock of Love.

Books:

"A Happy Death" and "The Stranger" by Albert Camus, "House of Mirth" by Edith Wharton, "The Bell Jar" by Sylvia Plath, "Girl, Interrupted" by Susanna Kaysen. The Chronicles of Narnia. In general favorite authors: Camus, Jean-Paul Sartre, Franz Kafka, Daphne du Maurier, Anne Rice, A.S. Byatt, Maggie Estep, Douglas Adams, Edward Gorey, Candace Bushnell, Laurie Notaro, Isabelle Allende. And "Then We Came to the End" by Joshua Ferris.

My Blog

Sex and the City. Boo, I say.

As I watched "Sex and the City" in the movie theater this weekend, I couldn't help but wonder: Why does this movie kind of suck? And when will it be over?I loved "Sex and the City" on HBO. When every ...

Why a young Target clerk may think I murdered someone

I went to Target to buy a brand-new vacuum yesterday. My old one wasn't picking up much dirt, so when I vacuumed, I felt like I was pointlessly pushing something across the floor just to scare the cat...
