Hauke

German by birth, American by Heart

About Me

My name is Hauke Gruen, most people in the US call me HAWK because it sounds cooler and most people in the US are too dumb to pronounce this German name. hehe, jk...
At present, I still live in Dornum, a small town 4 miles off the coast but that's about to change. I am about to become an active member of the armed forces. Yup, as terrorism and all poses a threat to the NATO, some brilliant german politician had the idea to re-establish the draft. I got drafted and will leave for boot-camp on October 4th. No, not exactly what I planned to do but it's only 9 months of active duty. That is, if nothing serious happens and some dumb politicians decide to send me to Afghanistan...
After that I will go to college at the CBS-Cologne Business School and study Media Management in International Business.
"Home is where the heart is" a (wise ;-) ) friend who shall remain nameless of mine once said. Oh yeah, he was right!!! My real home is the US of A. I know a lot of people disagree, Germany is not so bad they say: no speed limit, no drinking age and lots of good food... But for a filmmaker Germany isn't quite as resourceful as the US. However, live is what you make of it and so I don't complain and make the most out of every opportunity I encounter knowing that one day I will have a chance and the power to change my life the way I want it to be.
About myself? Well, I enjoy reading all kinds of literature a lot (classics as far back as Shakespeare as well as the latest books out there). Dan Brown is a personal favorite author of mine! I like to go swimming or do other water sports. This summer I hope to get back to doing some sailing and surfing. Photography and filming+editing everything that hits my lens I should mention, too. Did I forget anything? Guess not. Oh yeah, if any myspace-crew-member reads this: You guys need to add "Hopelessly In Love" to the status-categories!!! :)
In Febrary 2005, HAWK MotionPictures was going coporate!!! HAWK MotionPictures of Rossview High School is now HAWK MotionPictures Inc. (in Germany)!!! Internet-Site: HAWK MotionPictures
The latest project of HAWK MotionPictures is called "HACK AND HIDE", a mystery-conspiracy satire with a touch of comedy.
