About Me

Check out our Sunday Morning Service 10:30am at our lovely home in Murrieta, CA.
"The Church is not formed to be a social club, to produce socoety for itself; not to be a politacal association, to ba a power in politics; nor even to be a religeous confederacy, promoting it's own opinions; it is a body created of the Lord to answer his own ends and purposes, and it exsists for nothing else." -Charles Haddon Spurgeon
"The Church is her true self only when she exists for humanity. As a fresh start, she should give away all her endowments to the poor and needy. The clergy should live solely on the freewill offerings of their congregations, or possibly engage in some secular calling." -Dietrich Bonhoeffer (1906 - 1945)
"Yes, I see the Church as the body of Christ. But, oh! How we have blemished and scarred that body through social neglect and through fear of being nonconformists." -Martin Luther King Jr (1929 - 1968)
"The introverted church is one which puts its own survival before its mission, its own identity above its task, its internal concerns before its apostolate, its rituals before its ministry. Undue emphasis on the static structure of the Church has led to the disappearance of a significant lay ministry in denominational Protestantism." -Gibson Winter
"The church must be reminded that it is not the master or the servant of the state, but rather the conscience of the state. It must be the guide and the critic of the state, and never its tool." -Martin Luther King Jr (1929 - 1968)
"Bring your friends and experience profound loneliness thereafter" -Mark Driscoll
We are Church in the Valley, an authentic church for genuine people.
Our core values: Truth, Beauty, Mission, Community.
+Truth+
"Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth." --John 17:17
"Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth"--2 Timothy 2:15 (emphasis mine)
"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." --2 Timothy 3:16,17
Truth is absolutely essential to our understanding of who God is, what His word tells us, and thus, our salvation. God's word is the truth that we base our lives and ministry upon. We believe that absolute truth not only exists, but is necessary to glorifying God. Therefore, we believe that truth is a fundamental element of the ministry of Church in the Valley.
+Beauty
"One thing I have desired of the Lord, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord, And to inquire in His temple." --Psalm 27:4
"Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous! For praise from the upright is beautiful." --Psalm 33:1
By beauty we are primarily referring to worship. We reflect on the beauty of our Lord and His creation and our awe is expressed in our praise! Worship is not just musical, but is a lifestyle (i.e., our obedience to God is an act of worship).
+Mission+
"And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, 'All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.' Amen." --Matthew 28:18-20
"...for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost." --Luke 19:10
By "mission," we are primarily referring to evangelistic outreach in its various forms. The Bible portrays our Lord as a missionary God who is deeply concerned that His free gift of Salvation is offered to all men. Throughout scripture, God's faithful servants are found sharing His grace throughout the known world. God is so committed to mission that He even uses unwilling participants at times to further His kingdom (as in the case of Jonah). We are called to live as missionaries whether we travel to the other side of the world or we have a seemingly normal and uneventful lifestyle at home.
+Community+
"And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need. So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved." --Acts 2:42-47
For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another." --Romans 12:4,5
Community in the context of Church in the Valley can be separated into two distinct functions; church community and local community. By church community, we refer to those genuine believers, primarily who attend Church in the Valley, but can also refer to Christians from other fellowships. Local community refers to the residents and businesspeople of the neighborhoods we serve; specifically Southwest Riverside County, California. With respect to the church community, Church in the Valley strives to be a solid family of brothers and sisters in Christ who care for one another and serve God together. In regards to teh local community, we as a church, are committed to establish Church in the Valley as a staple in the valley. Our goal is to utilize the church community to serve the local unchurched community to the Glory of God.
"There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all." --Ephesians 4:4-6
