About Me

Chris Lee has always been dreaming to become a musician since he was 8 years old. Partly because his mother was a classical pianist and he was always exposed to music day and night. When he was 10 years old, he had an opportunity to play as an accompaning piast for his music class. At the time, he found himself a way to improvise without reading the music. However, being aware of the riskiness that may follow if he becomes musician, music had been always a hobby throughout his middle, and high school life. But of course, he was extremely open to learning piano extensively, and enjoyed listening to various genres of music. After highschool, he entered University of Maryland to study computer engineering, mostly with the hope to live a financially satisfying life with a steady job. But even after he went to the college, he took more time in the music department than engineering department, and focused mainly on music classes. Learning C++ and programming was just not his interest. During the sophomore year, he was introduced to the world of jazz after listening to Keith Jarrett and Bill Evans and that was the moment at which he finally decided to move to Boston to study at Berklee College of Music. Berklee was really exciting place for him. He listened to many jazz musicians such as Oscar Peterson, Chick Corea, Miles Davis, Stan Getz to name a few, and practiced piano with a passion. After knowing that he wanted to broaden his musical talent and skills to compose music in variety of styles and genres, he chosed Film Scoring as a major and studied orchestration, counterpoint and arranging. During the summer of 2006, he went to California to study with famous flim/tv composers Joey Newman and Ryan Shore and worked at Universal Music as an intern. And Finally, later that year in December, he graduated from Berklee College of Music with Bachaelors of Music in Film Scoring. During the summer in 2007, Chris moved to Los Angeles and started to work for various composers such as Jeff Rona and Mike Suby. He also started to work at music library house and scored additional music for reality shows in E! Network and Spike TV. Chris is currently scoring for short film and making tracks for music library, and playing piano with his bands around the town. With passion and continuing energy, he tries to thrive and explore his dream to the fullest. music layout @ HOT FreeLayouts.com
