About Me

Hmmmm... about me? I am married (1 year!), living in Boston with Austin, my husband. We have a Springer Spaniel, Tizer... she thinks she's still a puppy but she's 3.I love to travel, and have ventured to many places far and wide. My favorite places include Maui, Italy, Barbados, and Alaska. This past summer, we went to Amsterdam and then took a driving tour through Germany and Austria- a trip of a lifetime! We plan to take at least 1 trip every year, working within a budget that will likely change regularly.I like to do outdoorsy things, but not the typical stuff. I like yardwork, exploring old graveyards, walking through the woods with the doggie, climbing on beaches made only of rocks and relaxed picnics. I'd love to take a hot air balloon ride or go sailing on a clear day. I think there's nothing better than the smell of freshly cut grass on a warm afternoon.I am currently finishing up my PhD degree and making plans for what to do next. I'm a scientist- a biologist, but I think it is essential to make my work applicable and understandable to non-scientists. I will answer questions that are posed to me (here and elsewhere). I love my work, the people at my work, and the pursuit of the pieces to a never-ending puzzle. I hope to always have research in my life, with a healthy dose of teaching and other science-y tasks.
