I graduated from of University of Oregon Business School (Marketing) Ran for the Oregon Track and Cross Country Teams coached by NIKE Co-founder –and Olympic Coach Bill Bowerman. Competed with Oregon teammates (including runner Steve Prefontaine) to win an NCAA cross country championship title. In track i was a sub four minute miler (3.56.7) and competed at the international level for the USA track team. Out of U of O i became a partner in Eugene Oregon based concert production company TDA, promoting such acts as Tom Petty, Elvis Costello and Hall & Oats, etc. Left TDA productions and became an associate with the Concerts West/ Jerry Weintraub -Management III. Worked with recording artists under management John Denver, Neil Diamond, Karen Carpenter, Bob Dylan and Frank Sinatra. Additionally, was US Concert Touring Director for Eric Clapton and Moody Blues. In the mid eighties i entered the securities industry beginning as Investment Advisor –then Investment Banker. I began my career with Kidder Peabody & Company {bought out by GE Capital) and ending up as in 1994: Co-Founder and Principal in Investment Banking firm: Gateway Pacific, Inc. Gateway Pacific specialized in facilitating private equity financings and working with early stage companies in operational structure and business development.2001 -2006 President/COO of Left Bank Management/Beyond Music Records. (Later re-named 10th Street Entertainment) Los Angeles, CA. Artist managed include: BEE GEE’s, MOTELY CRUE, MEAT LOAF, BLONDIE, YES, HEART, GO GO’s, HANSON, CLINT BLACK, JOHN MELLONCAMP, LUTHER VANDROSS, DURAN DURAN, CRANBERRIES, among others.2006: Departed 10th Street to use my investment banking, business management operations experience and relationships to consult new businesses as i searched for the right opportunity to get productively involved to help successfully build and grow.Part time activities have included: Principal in “Liaison Group, Inc. An event creation and production company which has included partnering in an outdoor concert venue Columbia Meadows Amphitheater, 30 miles northeast of Portland, Oregon. Producing summer time outdoor musical events with attendance ranging from 8,000 many as 20,000 people. The Venue was recognized by the “50 City “Warped Tour” As the “greenest” venue in the Country. I have also been Partnering with Mary Buffett (Author of Several Financial Books including: “Buffettology”) consulting on various business development projects including Daryl Hannah’s DHLOVELIFE.COM www.dhlovelife.comCurrently: Working to create a new music eco system for music artists to achieve mass market success without the dependence of a record label. BAND 3.0 will provide artists: with assistance to distribute, market and merchandise themselves and a defined pathway to have their music listened to and evaluated with an opportunity to be selected for a “Label” equivalent support package.
