Team 3111 welcomes you to our home page. Team 3111 is an amatuer fight team centered around friends and coworkers at the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department. We have chosen our name in honor of Officer Dan Crabtree, CFPD Unit # 3111. Dan gave his life for us on June 8, 2006 in Iraq and as a memorial to him we will carry the name Team 3111 to share his story with others. As a fight team we come from different backgrounds and train in different arts but our ulitmate goal is the same. We seek to find realistic training for the street, to keep ourselves and the men and women we train safe and return them home to their families. There are no arguments over "whose art is better" but rather we share the best combative elements of our arts to make everyone stronger. We enjoy competitive sport fighting but our work and training is always about realistic combat first. There are currently five members of Team 3111, Jim Deeks, Travis Goodman, Jim McGowan, Dave Holzaphel and Bernie Anderson. We provide defensive tactics training to the officers of the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department, to police reserve officers and also some civilian employees. It is our goal to expand the roster of the team over time and eventually create a true mived martial art school seperate from the police department to teach real fighting to the men and women who stand with us. More than anything else Team 3111 is about family. The team and those who train with us are family and that is what its all about!

My Interests

Who is Team 3111? Bernie Anderson is a reserve officer with Cuyahoga Falls. He brings a strong wrestling background to the team. Dave Holzaphel is a free style style figher and an amazing natural athlete. He is training submission fighting and ju jitsu with Travis. Jim Deeks is a Marine and now an officer in Cuyahoga Falls. In addition to his marine training he is a defensive tactics instructor and studies Wa Lu. Travis Goodman is an officer and defensive tactics instructor. He studies jui jitsu and submission fighting in addition to his strong wrestling background. Jim McGowan is an officer and DT instructor also. I am responsible for running this page and bring a background in Chinese Boxing and Wa Lu.Team 3111 is open to networking with any one who shares our interest in real combative fighting for police work. Although we are huge fans of the UFC and have the highest respect for all the fighters, we train for an arena where there are no rules and second place is not an option. We have found that we must prioritize our training for the real world and make adjustments for competition as needed.

I'd like to meet:

Team 3111 would like to thank Ray Trillet for his guidance, training and inspiration. Ray has given years of training in Chinese Boxing and Wa Lu and taught mixed martial art before anyone even knew what that meant. As our primary coache we cannot thank him enough for all the training he has given us and the time we have spent with him.

Heroes:

All five of us are blessed with strong, wonderful women in our lives. Their support is always evident and appreciated. We also consider the men and women who defend this country both here and abroad as heros as well as brothers and sisters in the fight. The men and women chosen as friends on this page were chosen very carefully and we appreciate them and what they stand for.
