..JACKS TO KINGS Is comprised of Frankie Taormina, Shawn Murray, Dominic Perella, and John Zazo. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Frankie Taormina (vocals): The highly energetic front man (who’s moves were seen nationally during the 2000 MTV Sisqo Shakedown, where he earned a birth to the semi-finals) with an undeniably magnetic personality that flat out owns the stage, and singularly unique vocal styling that grabs all listeners. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Shawn Murray (bass): Multi-talented and a key contributor in creating JACKS TO KINGS original material – previously with Frankie Taormina in SOUPBONE and TWINKLE THUD - and who together founded the Akron based FUNKYARD - winner of the 2005 Akron Enjoy Festival Battle of the Bands. Frankie and Shawn were seen on the stages of Peabody’s Down Under, Sadie Renee’s, Club Khameleon, 69 Taps, The Lime Spider, Chuck’s Steakhouse, The Main Street Saloon, Fat Tuesday’s, The Coyote, and The Pirate’s Cove … just to name a few ! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Dominic Perella (drums/vocals): Known from heavy metal band ZAVIOR (The Akron Agora, Ramon’s Night Club, Filthy McNasty’s); a 5 year stint playing clubs in the tri-county area with BADGE (With: Bobby Sepulveda - who played alongside Joe Walsh in the nostalgic OHIO EXPRESS, John Zimmerman - currently of CALIBER, house band of MUSTANG SALLIZ, and replacing Mike Zimmerman – current drummer for Tracy Byrd), recording sessions at Akron’s Prime Time Studios, guest spots sitting in at area venues with US METAL, WICKED, local drum master Bill Roth, jamming with area legend Neal Zaza, and most recently of D.C. PRIVE, who performed a fund raising concert at the Rockin’ On The River stage in tribute to local fallen & returning soldiers. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .John Zazo (guitar/vocals): Also from heavy metal band ZAVIOR, as well as EMPEROR – well known in the Akron, Cleveland, Canton area and opening act for SHOK PARIS (from THE HIDDEN movie soundtrack – 1987 New Line Cinema release, and seen on MTV - HEADBANGERS BALL). John trained at The University of Akron with classical guitar master Stephen Aaron, & was hotly recruited for session work at Prime Time Studios; and displayed his versatility playing both guitar and bass with well-known area musicians Paul Hively, Beverly Blass and Neva Gibson in SHURFIRE. John was asked to join a Canadian tour with THE EASY STREET BAND, and was recruited by none other than Freddie Salem (THE OUTLAWS – “Ghost Riders in the Sky”) to join his compilation of virtuoso musicians in a reformed version of THE GODZ – “Gotta Keep A Runnin”, and also wrote material with Mark Matthews (DEFCON, THE VINCE RUBY TRIO) and Neal Zaza for the original ZAZA project.
