*~Splash~* Goes the Party!

About Me

I was born and raised in So Cal and moved to the river just over 2 years ago. I live with my fiance Aaron and our "adopted" son Connor. We have a cat named Kitty and a puppy named Girlie. My other dog Peaches lives with my parents. I took custody of her in the divorce and then lost her when I moved out of my parents house. She is affectionately referred to by my parents as their Grand Dog. My mom & dad are still happily married after 45 years. They are retired now and live in the high desert in California (Victorville). My dad has had a few bouts with cancer over the last few years, but right now he is cancer free. Lately, he's been experiencing excruciating hip pain and waiting for a hip replacement. We just learned that some of the pain is from two large blood clots in his left leg. Mom has been healthy with the exception of having a knee replacement last year. She's had the patience of a saint while she trys to keep my dad healthy. They have a Jeep Rubicon and a 40 ft Diesel Pusher to tow it with. When they can, they enjoy camping and day trips with their Jeep club. My sister Barb is married to The Donald (Don) and has 3 girls. Megan (16), Maddison (12) and Morgan (4). They live in Victorville too and have a mini farm in their back yard. Complete with a rooster, chicks and a pot belly pig named Arnold. My brother John is married to his high school sweetheart Chanda and they also have three kids. John Martin (17), Jacob (15) and Corina (14). They live in West Covina. John does Pest Control and Chanda is a High School Chemistry teacher. I don't have any kids and I'm not sure if I want any. Life has been a roller coaster since I moved to the river. Before I moved here, I had worked for the same company for 17 years (Casablanca Fan Company). I quit there to move here. Since moving, I've had 3 jobs. Those who know me, know that I've always driven a Mustang. I've had 4 of them since 1990. Last May Connor & I got rear ended by a drunk driver and my beloved Pony car was totaled. I was broken hearted for a little while- but I'm over it. Now... I'm a Jeep girl (sigh). I was raised in the back set of a Jeep and now there are 3 in my family. My dad's Rubicon; and my brother & I both have Wranglers. My fiance Aaron is an ASE certified mechanic and has lived in Havasu for the better part of 10 years. He's originally from Utah, the youngest (& biggest) of 6 kids. He graduated high school in Wyoming. He's a big 'ol tattooed red neck boy with a big heart to match. He likes to act like a tough guy though. He's a wonderful cook, enjoys working on project cars here at home and especially enjoys riding his Harley. That's right - I'm in love with a Tattooed Biker! Aaron's mom lives in Havasu too and is married to the father of one of my best friends (Missy). Between the Barr's and the Montiel's I have a HUGE "family in law"; some of who I haven't even met yet! We both love drinking beer and hanging out in the garage with friends. I've finally found happiness in my life and know that I'm where I'm supposed to be.

My Interests

I can't live without my computer. It's how I stay connected to everyone. I'm into web design and digital photography. I take my camera with me everywhere I go. Say Cheese! We like to hang out in the garage and play poker. I like to sit and relax while I crochet. I have busy hands and have to be doing something when I sit in front of the tv. Otherwise, I'll fall asleep. I've made some beautiful baby blankets for friends who have had babies. I rarely sell my work. I do it from the heart and because I enjoy it.

I'd like to meet:

I'm not looking to "meet" anyone. I'm here to re-connect with old friends and stay in touch with family. However, if you are browsing and want to chat- send a message. If it's not spam- I'll most likely write back.

Music:

Music here in the Tri State area isn't the greatest. Radio stations fade in & out. I listen to just about everything except jazz and classical. I miss my 6 disc cd changer.

Movies:

Aaron & Connor are big movie buffs. I however rarely sit and watch an entire movie. Once I hit the recliner it's night night Cathy.

Television:

Paradise Hotel 2 (I'm hooked), High School Reunion 2, Deadliest Catch, Dirty Jobs, Jon & Kate +8, How it's Made.... you get the idea.

Books:

Haven't made much time to read lately, but I haven't found a Stephen King, Dan Brown or Danielle Steele book that I haven't liked.

Heroes:

My Dad & My fiance Aaron.
