Music, the arts, sports, cultures of different places, travel, food, imported beer and beautiful women.
Other musicians, artists, songwriters, creative, good, warm people. People who are fearless. People that make me feel like the least craziest of the bunch. Open-minded, open-hearted fun-ass people! I'm certainly down for making new friends, but if you're going to request me as a friend, at least write a little message :)
Miles, Trane, Bobby McFerrin, Sinatra, Ella, Bille, Mel Torme, Kurt Elling, Jon Hendricks, Herbie, Keith Jarret, Wynton and many more jazz artists. The Roots, Tribe Called Quest, Beastie Boys, Sublime, Radiohead, Mos Def, Dilated Peoples, Pharcyde, Beatles, Stones, White Stripes, old school 70's stuff like Earth, Wind and Fire, T.O.P., and the village people. Psych! I'm just kidding about the village people. Just seeing if you're paying attention. Oh and I love the old school latin music that my parents used to play in those basement parties like Joe Arroyo and Celia Cruz. Have I listed enough? Wanna listen to my music? It is possible to watch TV all day and not know what you're watching? All I know is I watch Sportscenter about three times a day and then whatever else I run into when channel surfing. I do stop though, when I see 24, Dave Chappelle, the Simpsons, or any good performances on BET on JAZZ.
I'm not gonna lie. I haven't finished a book since grad school and that was about the 7 multiple intelligences. Interesting, but not really. I did read the Miles Davis autobiography and thought it was incredible. And I've had Chet Baker's autobiography sitting on my coffe table for about a year now and I'm only on the third chapter. Hmm, looks like I gotta stop reading TONY and Village Voice and get my head into some real stuff.
My beautiful, amazing, incredible and inspiring mother. I love you mom, R.I.P. and keep watching over me.
