By the age of 7, in a her home started singing just on a little Kareoke Machine made for children. As she sung in her room, she would act like there would be a crowd in front of her and she would sing her heart out to stuffed animals that would sit on her bed staring at her while she sang. As she grew older, she would take chorus classes in school. She preticipated in chorus concerts and was part of the sapronos.By the age of 14, Her thoughts were all about music and wanting to become a singer. By this time in life her Idols were,Young Fire, Santa Maria, Cascada, the late Selena and of course the late Jack Sebastiao. As she would listen to their music over and over again she would sing along and memorize every word in every song. She grew up in the small town of West Warwick,R.I., where she met Young Fire while they performed at portuguese festivals, and became a big fan of theirs ever since the age of 12.Looking back at March of 2007, One of her good friends which has recorded with Young Fire (Pysc) made an album that encouraged her to call Young Fire herself to start recording with them. Ricardo and Evaldo of (Young Fire), brought Ruth into their studio to hear her vocals. "They listened to my voice while I was singing "Para te amar" (from Santa Maria a well known group in the portuguese community) and they were focusing on my performance. They made me feel very comfortable in their studio. When they told me that they could work with me, it was the happiest news that I have ever gotten in my life!" Ruth said.Now at the age of 21, Ruth now known as "Diamond", is comming out with her first album "Who I am" out August 17th,2008.
