My photography appears throughout Estranged's Remain Unknown which has hit the stores today (13th October 2008).
I personally feel that this is Estranged's best studio effort to date. They've come out of the underground, proved their ability to write great radio tunes with Itu Kamu and have now taken their song mastery to a whole different level. This album may well be the musical event of the year.
The album concept visually was a wild idea I had to put together their poignant music with photographic elements that though seem random, carry important questions and messages. It is a time of social and spiritual change in Malaysia and around the world. The songs and the photographs are not literal. It requires the observer's participation in deciphering what is being put forth both musically and visually.
Pick up an album. Listen to it. Look at it. Think about it. And share your thoughts with us.

I'm a photographer working and living in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Most of my work revolves around people and human spaces. The work featured here has primarily to do with the music scene which I am much a part of. I've played the guitar and written music for several bands and worked as a sound engineer for a variety of bands between 2005-2007. I am a full time free-lance photographer now.
All the work you see here was produced, shot and edited by myself. A lot of the conceptual work here have all been produced by myself. I work with the talented Dhiya Izwin , my stylist and makeup artist of choice. She also happens to be a wonderful singer and friend. All the lighting work is done by me. I'm predominantly a one-man show behind the camera but have recently taken interns to help me out on assignments.
My focus in photography is very clear- it is to capture the human emotion in the frame be it on stage with the band or at a shoot location.
I am available for photoshoots inside and outside of Asia. As you have seen from the photographs I've shot quite a many acts locally and abroad. I direct and conceptualise all my shoots. More of my works are found at the links below.
