About Me

Well well well let me seeeee. I guess I'm the average British stranger dude who tries to do his best by everyone, and usually feels responsible for everyone elses good time. I sometimes feel the need to fill conversational gaps with inane small talk. A couple of personal weirdnesses - I can make my tongue wider than my mouth, do 'Jack Nicholson eyebrows', wiggle either ear independantly, and juggle 5 balls. That'll get me a few jobs.... ya.

I'm a total socialite, and feel like I'm wasting my life when doing anything else. Makes the days at work draaaag when the sun's out and the beer gardens of Bohemia await.

I love being in a different culture to the one I'm used to, and learning about that culture more through the people that I interact with than through old buildings and historical stuff. I love it when I'm stretched to communicate what I need to say in another language, and succeed (esp. Czech since it's such an ass to get right..)

I love Italy, and am planning to finish up in Prague to go and live there. I think Italians have got it right generally by considering an evening with friends with good food and a good bottle of wine more important than work or paying the bills. I love the atmosphere in Rome, and how people sit around in the piazzas together chatting and having a laugh, rather than going to a bar, getting wasted and in the end not being able to say anything... I guess the latter has worn a bit thin for me these days.

I love cool sunsets, when the colours and cloud patterns force me stand and admire it. I love pretty scenery, and find it easier to appreciate than old cities and picturesque architecture.

I love the kick I get when I figure out a new juggling move. I like breaking the seal on a new jar of coffee. My favourite munches are hot croissants with butter and raspberry jam, or pecan and maple danishes.

I love the feeling the moment the wheels leave the ground on take off, and the plane feels free. I love looking out of the window on the plane, and seeing everything from a different perspective, where everything is indiscriminate and borderless, and one country could be another.

I don't like it when people are arrogant about using English and can't see the point of learning the language of the country they live in since they feel they don't need to. I don't like seeing a stag (bachelor) party from England in Prague, with my fellow Britons following the 'Brits on holiday' rule and generally being disrespectful to Czech people or property - adding to the fast-growing reputation that English guys are actually tossers rather than the 'perfect gentlemen' we somehow mutated from :o)

I don't like having a personal phone conversation when sitting on public transport. I don't like not getting a window seat on the plane. I don't like the smell at Prague's main train station.

I don't like it when the toilet seat's 'still warm'. I don't like filling in forms or writing letters, and procrastinate like crazy before doing them (note to self - write thank you card for christmas('04) present to godmother in France... [sigh].. I'm crap).

I hate the amount of injustice in the world, and the greed that creates it. I hate speaking English to non-English people when I'm able to say what I need to in their language (not helpful often because they then respond in their language which leads to me showing off my best blank expression, followed by panicked confusion on my part).

This has gotta be one of the the longest profile I've seen on MySpace to be fair. Pretty sad that I can bang on about myself for about 3 sides of A4. Believe it or not I'm not actually that flighty in real life. If you've managed to get down to here give yerself a a gold star and pat on the back. Followed by perhaps considering why you're still reading, and stop.

Oh and just one other thing, if you're gonna send a friend request, send a freaking message with it! I generally say stuff to people I meet, so I guess this here space should be somewhat similar. If you don't, I will flicketh thee from mine friend request box. Cheers!

My Interests

Hanging out and going out with friends, meeting new people, juggling, exploring places, dancing in clubs (to D+B esp at the moment) and DJing - craply my decks are in England gathering dust though. And bubblewrap obviously.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone and everyone, I'm not fussy.

Music:

(Heavy electronica influence here) All Liquid Funk genre D+B, Underworld, Chemical Brothers, Way Out West, Sasha, Hybrid, U2, Coldplay, Midnight Oil, Lemon Jelly, Gorillaz, Presidents of the United States, Propellorheads, Aphrodite, Manu Chao, Najwa Nimri, Massive Attack....

Movies:

Back to the Future, all brat pack movies (Breakfast Club, Ferris Beullers day off, Weird Science etc..), Pirates of the Carribean, Lord of the Rings, Shawshank Redemption, Run Lola Run, The Incredibles...

Television:

Never did get into watching TV much... probably since I grew up without Sky, plus no TV dinners as a lad since the lounge was upstairs at my parent's house. The only exception being when I lived in Wolverhapton and TV became an essential part of my day to day life with Eastenders at the core. Shows the thrilling life I used to lead in the greyest place I've ever lived/seen (DON'T go there). When I did watch TV in England I liked Smallville (only the first two series tho), Friends, Dirty Sanchez (Jackass but on a whole new Welsh level), the A Team, Columbo (unmissable for the 'fake eye entertainment') documentary type programs, and perhaps a bit of Star Trek - yep, I'm just that cool... etc.. and stuff. Living in Prague I have 4 Czech channels to choose from, and one more which only exists if you squint hard enough.. funkin fantastic. I don't miss TV when there isn't one around to watch or when it's not in English to be fair though. Well - except the A Team.

Books:

Lord of the Rings, John Grisham stuff if I'm in the right mood, Michael Chrichton when I'm not (kinda brainless stuff). Devil in the White City.

Heroes:

My mum and dad - they're amazing
