Here we go, in no particular order.... My friends, my family, walking on hills, pedaloes, holidays, checking out obscure old music videos on youtube, places that have a night sky where you can see the stars, my chest hair, swimming fudge, chocolate, flapjack. In fact, most varieties of cake, dancing, flip flops, pasties, going to gigs and dancing to stuff you will never ever get to anywhere else, writing random poems, Final Fantasy (especially the ye old Nintendo ones) my old cuddly toys, music geeking, Marc Chagall, Andy Goldsworthy, Phantom of the Opera, vampires, painting (at several year intervals!) drawing, laying in, staying up late, washing up, the taste of spring in the air, that October cold that always comes and makes you think of Christmas, animated discussions, random conversation, lying down whenever possible, chilling with friends, banter with family, white wine, sherry, cats, animals in general, discussing books/films, gossip, teleport replay marathons, jolly family games (which can be played with friends as well! - Scrabble, Monopoly, cards...)cups of tea
Ooh well I get on with anyone really, but I have to say, once having hunted down all my current friends, it would be nice to catch up again with those people I have lost contact with over years. You are not forgotten.Anyone who is not too offended by my taste in things, indeed who may also share a peculiar fixation with big lunged female singers past their commercial peak, would be cool to share your thoughts and any hot geek trivia.Oh yeah, and any declarations of desire from beautiful men, well lets be honest, they would be more than welcome!
A quick explanation of "in" and "out" music. "Out" music is the social world, and for me that means dancing. The dance floor is a magic place. Over time I have danced to everything from indie to RnB to drumnbass to cheesy disco pop. But to really get you in the zone, (that is, the place where your feet spend more time in the air than on the floor) it is all about the beats. So that means proper dance music. Techno/house/twisted disco/repetitive beats... and a whole load of other terms for pure dance magic! But "in" music is of the house and in many ways, the soul. Music to move and sing your way through everyday life. So here is a list of all the artists who I have/do follow over the years. It varies from the critically acclaimed to the unapologetically uncool. And there are three favourite songs for each. So, in no particular order....Kate Bush ("Hello Earth", "Nocturn", "Hounds of Love"), Bjork ("I Miss You", "Sun in my Mouth", Everything But The Girl/Tracey Thorn ("It's All True", "Each and Every One", "Futue of the Future"), "Bachelorette"), Tori Amos ("Winter", "Sleeps with Butterflies" "Raspberry Swirl"), Dionne Warwick ("What the World Needs Now", "Make it Easy on Yourself","All the Love in the World"), Saint Etienne ("Action", "Sycamore", "Hug my Soul"), PJ Harvey ("A Perfect Day Elise", "Harder", "My Beautiful Leah"), Bic Runga ("Say After Me", "Birds", "Listening for the Weather"), Tanita Tikaram ("Stop Listening", "You Make the Whole World Cry", "Twist in my Sobriety"), Pet Shop Boys ("A Red Letter Day", "Between two islands", "The End of the World"), Sinead O'Connor ("This is to Mother you", "Success has made a Failure of Our Home", "This is a Rebel Song"), Madonna ("Get Together", "Erotica", "Bedtime Story"), Kylie Minogue ("Never Too Late", "Gotta Move on", "Slow"), Antony and the Johnsons ("Hope There's Someone", "Blue Angel", "For Today I am a Boy"), Garbage ("Milk", "I think I'm Paranoid", "Breaking up the Girl"), David McAlmont ("Look at Yourself", "You go to my Head", "Falling"), Kathryn Williams ("White Blue and Red", "You tell the truth as if it were lies", "Three"), Siouxsie Sioux ("Disconnected", Fireworks", "Cities in Dust"), Depeche Mode ("John the Revelator", "Enjoy the Silence", "Get the Balance Right"), Annie Lennox/Eurythmics ("Why", "Walking on Broken Glass", "Savage"),Nick Cave ("There She Goes my Beautiful World", "Love Letter", "Red Right Hand"), Sarah Brightman ("Anything but Lonely", "Time to Say Goodbye", "It's a Beautiful Day"), Rufus Wainwright ("Oh What a World", "Memphis Skyline", "Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk"), K.d.
