Quentin Tarantino: "I really love John Morghen in that film too, he's such a cool character... John Martin: "Right, he lives in a shack with a blow-up doll and a decomposing baby...but he's still a real wow with the girls..." Quentin Tarantino: "...and everybody else talks about him so much. I mean they talk about him more than they do about any character in the movie, even the priest y'know. I think it's funny, everyone's looking for him, then he bumps into this teenage girl and it's like: "Hi, how y'doin' ?" and they sit down, smoking a joint and everything...fucking great!"
Q. tarantino and J. Martin about L. Fulci's "gate of hell"
John Morghen is a blast to watch, elevating every film he has appeared in. I'm hoping the Italian film industry will get its shit together and start producing more of the grand, surreal horror films its capable of. And I hope John Morghen is a part of them.
