Hailing from Memphis, the rapper/producers musical influences run deep as the citys fertile history, and he cites not only rappers like Tupac, Biggie and Jay-Z as inspirational, but also Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind & Fire and Jamouraqua. His diverse musical taste is manifested in his music, making for an interesting array of instrumentation and subject matter that dares to vary from Hip Hops traditional themes. "[What separates me from other artists] is my tenacityoriginal material that no other artist has ever presented," he explains. For that very reason, Indawin has found that at times, it takes the average listener a bit more time to digest his musical sound and lyrical vision. "Its almost like I have to feed it to everybody one piece at a time because too much may be hard to swallow," he confirms. "Usually anything that is different and goes against the norm must have enough time to be understood. The music that I make is not music that you will fully understand with one or two listens." Whether he's rapping about college experiences, women or offering thoughts about politics, race and religion, Indawin is always lyrically stimulating and captivating with his delivery. He knows that Hip Hop is a serious force in pop culture. "Hip Hop is the collection of ghettos, hoods and blocks of the world and the way we live, he reflects. I would like for the media, specifically the mainstream media to expose the Southern portion of Hip Hop as it does all others.
