The Cavalry is a hard rocking band out of Los Angeles. With two southern boys, a city slicker from Seattle, and a Canuck all the way from the Yukon, The Cavalry brings a special blend of energy and soul into their explosive stage show.
Guitar players Christian Pedersen (generally referred to as CP), and Tanner Thomason met while living in the same building. After discussing the finer points of Malcolm and Angus Young the two immediately set about writing real rock and roll music with two necessary ingredients: it had to have soul and it had to have a hook big enough to catch Moby Dick .
The duo immediately started looking for a singer on the roof of their Koreatown apt building and knew they could stop when Tristan Jackson locked in his voice with a song that the three of them knew by heart. Tristan joined and they all moved into a house in the valley. On the way back to their home studio after watching one particular drummer for the 2nd time, the trio talked about what they needed in their drummer to know it was a fit.
The answer would walk in the door an hour later when a graduate of Musician's Institute (who already had an impressive list of credits including recently playing for the US troops stationed in Germany and Korea) would sit behind her kit. Sara Skelton came in sick with a cold and brought more heat than anyone they'd ever heard. After they found all the right pieces they had to find the right name and the group took on the call of "The Cavalry", as well as it's motto: First In Last Out
The band gigs regularly playing clubs such as the Roxy, the Cabana Club and many others from Northern and Southern California. The band impresses venues with their professionalism, high-energy show and great draw. The soundman at their first show said it best when he closed their set with, "When you want to rock, who're you going to call? Call in The Cavalry!"
The Cavalry recently won Rock City New's Best New Band of 2007, and have been enjoying their endorsement from Laguna Beach Jeans Co.
If you like to roll down your windows and turn up the radio, then you're going to love The Cavalry.
