About Me

Can I really tell you who I am in just a few sentences? Would I want to do that? Well...just a few words: Happy, though sometimes moody, talk too much, think too much.

My Interests

Going out with friends, travelling the world with my man, programming websites about music and films, sitting in the garden and staring at the green and blue, eating Thai food, watching Bundesliga and having a nice barbecue (Schaalke!), endless talks with with soulmate curiouscat68 about TV series, computing and what the hell this world is all about.

I'd like to meet:

People who got something to say. Or who entertain me. Do you know what life is all about? Or just a newly discovered beach in Thailand? Or a new destination for us where people are nice and the cappuccino is cheap? Or do you want to talk shop about how great Lee Hazlewood or the film Lawrence of Arabia is? Or do you know some good music I don't know yet? Well, you're welcome (in Englisch oder einfach in Deutsch)

Music:

Music is an essential part of my life. I'm a live-long The The addict since 1983. I also listen to The Kills, Scott Walker, Prodigy, Dead Can Dance, Seeed, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Thievery Corporation, Johnny Cash, M.I.A., Beatles (70ties), some electronic 80ties music (Soft Cell, Gary Numan, The Normal etc.), a lot of Sixties music like Lee Hazlewood, Nancy Sinatra as well as obscure Doo Wop-music (anybody knows The Bobettes or The Mello Kings?); you also find Lester Young and Billie Holiday in my beloved vinyl collection (among a lot of incredibly strange and embarrassing things).

Movies:

Lawrence of Arabia (THE masterpiece), Das Boot, Fight Club, Being John Malkovich, Logan's Run (and other 70ties SF movies like Soylent Green), Matrix Part 1, Twelve Monkeys, The Night of the Hunter, Science Fiction and Thriller

Television:

Weltspiegel, Tagesschau, Lost, Battlestar Galactica, Monk, Life On Mars, Desperate Housewives, Dark Angel

Books:

Seven Years in Tibet by Heinrich Harrer, The Seven Pillars of Wisdom by T.E.Lawrence, I'm with the Band by Pamela Des Barres and other biographies (like Billie Holiday by Julia Blackburn), Mark Brandis-Bücher (this one's for the Germans), Making History by Stephen Fry, anything by Ray Bradbury and Science Fiction short stories in general

Heroes:

I don't like the concept of heroes or I don't know any good ones. Well people I like for their music/films/books whatever are certainly Matt Johnson, Scott Walker, David Lean and the other ladies and guys mentioned above. And Marc Almond for surviving.
